Happy Youth Day to the Leaders of tomorrow!

The focal point of youth day is based on quality education for all and better leadership for the future.

We would like to thank the Youth of 1976 for their sacrifice, without them, South Africa wouldn't be where it is today.

: "A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing." -George Bernard Shaw

Give yourself permission to make mistakes.

Give yourself permission to learn.

The road to greatness starts with the trying.

Study Tip: Use a Wall Planner!

Stick a calendar or wall planner up so you can see it whenever you're studying.

Mark it up with important dates, like exams and assignment due dates.

Then, use it to block out your regular study timetable too.

According to a 2007 study from the Stanford University School of Medicine, music β€” classical music, specifically β€” can help your brain absorb and interpret new information more easily. Your brain processes the abundance of information it receives from the world around you by separating it into smaller segments.

Two things overlooked during exam time are exercise and diet. Fine tune these two parts of your life and you’ll find your stress levels plummeting, concentration soaring and your memory sharpening up.

Research published in the Elsevier Journal of Applied Research in Memory and Cognition found that even short bursts of exercise helps your brain to manage information and sharpens your attention. The Anxiety and Depression Association of America suggests exercise for when stress has depleted your energy or ability to concentrate.

Healthy body, healthy mind πŸ€ΈπŸ½β€β™€οΈπŸ’†πŸ½β€β™€οΈ

Take care of your body and mind by eating healthy food.

Eating more fish, walnuts and dark chocolate, and drinking green tea, is great for boosting brain function.

Avoid sugary foods as these will cause an energy slump after the initial boost.

Let us help you ace those exams!

Hey 2022 Matriculants πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

Have you booked your NBT test yet?

The purpose of The National Benchmark Tests (NBT) is to measure your academic readiness for University.

There are two tests.

The Academic Literacy and Quantitative Literacy domains (AQL) are combined into one multiple-choice test. Each section is timed, for a total of three hours of writing time. The AQL test is written by applicants to all programmes.

The second test is Mathematics (MAT), which is written by applicants to programmes for which mathematics is a requirement.

The MAT test is also multiple-choice and timed, with three hours allowed.

Some South African universities use the NBTs in addition to the National Senior Certificate (NSC) for access to higher education, while others use the tests to determine the kind of learning support a student will need during their studies. Thus, it is important to check the requirements of the degree or diploma you wish to pursue as writing the NBT maybe an entrance requirement.

Be sure to check the deadline requirements of universities for NBT's in order to avoid wasting time and money on writing the test in vein. The test can be written both in person and online.

Visit the official NBT website for more information: www.nbt.ac.za
