Nokuthula Special School LSEN

Meaning of Heritage : synonymous with Inheritance. How apt that our Alumni Sive Budaza returned to his school on Heritage day celebrations to encourage our Learners with his story. Sive left Nokuthula a few years ago and started working at Pick and Pay. He was one of our star athletes and always shared how sports changed his life. So while working at Pick and Pay , he started his NGO called Amandla Wabomi Project: an initiative to get typical learners and learners with disabilities to engage on the sports field. Sive has been working relentlessly at this project to ensure integration, recognition and acceptance for Learners living with disabilities. Sive was coached by his educators, grounds man and even drivers at our school over the years. He is a true inspiration that it takes a village to raise a child. More inspiring is that he is passionate about sowing back into his community and school. Sive we salute you. You are indeed our Inheritance. It is with great sadness that we are informing you about the loss of our dear Learner Bucule Nkwinika 09/05/2010 -09/2022. His funeral will held in Queens Town ,Eastern Cape on the 18th June 2022.
Dear Bucule you were a beautiful, brave soul. May you rest in eternal peace with your Maker. Our sincerest sympathies goes out to his family, friends ,fellow Learners and everyone whose lives he touched.

Today we saying farewell to Sharne Sharné Rheeder our Speech Therapist who served diligently in ECD & Gr R for the past 3 years. She started up the Feeding Clinic, played a major role in our Equine Assisted Pilot Project, started up HippoTherapy alongside OT and supported SBST , Parent whatsapp groups and our FB page quietly behind the scenes. Her enthusiasm for her Profession will be dearly missed. Wishing you all the best for your next career adventure.May Nokuthula Learners always have a special place in your heart💙♥️

April is Autism Awareness Month.

Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication.

Autism Awareness Month emphasizes the need for public awareness to promote acceptance, celebrate the differences, and be more inclusive towards autistic individuals around us.
