Tomorrow, Governor Lesetja Kganyago and Minister of Basic of Education Siviwe Gwarube will announce the winners of the 2025 South African Reserve Bank (SARB) Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) Schools Challenge.
The competition is aimed at Grade 12 learners and is designed to stimulate interest in monetary policy and central banking. Learners from participating schools are given an opportunity to step into the shoes of the Governor and the MPC, formulating their own MPC statements, with finalists presenting them to a panel of senior SARB economists.
Date: Tuesday, 19 August 2025.
