Small World is preparing to sing and dance and tell our stories for this year’s Africanarra 💙

A celebration of storytelling in “the hundred languages” — through music, movement, books, rhythm, imagination, words and no-words.

Africanarra 2026 is the Africa Reggio Emilia Alliance’s annual storytelling initiative, where Reggio Emilia-inspired schools across Africa co-create storytelling events in their own communities over the weekend of 22–24 May 2026 for:

We can’t wait to gather on the stoep and let the stories fly.

Calling all siblings and new friends under 2 years old…

The Seedlings programme will start this week on 29 October 2025.

WHAT IS IT?
Seedlings is an Infant-Toddler Program that provides a dynamic opportunity for parents/caregivers and their infants to spend some time together, exploring a wide range of expressive media for example clay, watercolours, sensory play, and music, in an environment that encourages investigation, curiosity and experimentation.

WHO’S IT FOR?
It’s for parents/guardians/nannies/grandparents and their children 2 years and under. Parents can observe as their child gains confidence in socialising and forming relationships with each other and the space.

Come share and explore a variety of materials as well as rich, thought provoking conversations. And let’s not forget the delicious, nutritious High Tea served in the Friendship Forest afterwards!

Time: Wednesday afternoons 2-4pm
Venue: Small World School, 36 Fairbridge Road, Roosevelt Park.
The cost is R400 per session and there are 4 sessions per term. The termly fee is R1600.
