There’s something really special about being a small, home-based school. 🏡🤍

We get to know the little personalities behind the little faces — their routines, their funny habits, what makes them laugh, what makes them nervous, and what is normal for them.

And that matters.

Because when you know a child well, you’re much more likely to notice when something feels a little different.

For parents, we know one of the biggest questions when choosing a school is:

“Will my child be safe and genuinely cared for when I’m not there?”

Our answer is simple: we treat every Little Rascal as an individual.

We don’t want your little one to simply get through the day. We want them to feel secure enough to explore, confident enough to try, and comfortable enough to let us know when they need help.

And yes… there will be messy hands, backwards pants, questionable art projects and the occasional mystery substance that nobody wants to identify. 😂

But there will also be cuddles, encouragement, little victories and teachers who are paying attention.

🌸 Potty-training fun fact #1: There is no magic “right age” for potty training. Children develop readiness at different times, and rushing them can make the process harder.

🌸 Potty-training fun fact #2: Staying dry through the night usually comes later than daytime toilet training — so nighttime accidents can be completely normal even when a child has mastered the potty during the day.

🌸✨ A little glimpse into the magic that happened at Little Rascals today… ✨🌸

There’s something so special about watching little minds discover the world through their own tiny hands. 🥹 Today was filled with colour, curiosity, giggles, messy fingers, big smiles and those wonderfully unexpected little creations that only preschoolers can make.

Our classroom turned into a tiny spring garden of imagination .. where a simple piece of paper could become a butterfly, a few marks could become a ladybug, and bubbles could become an entire world of patterns and colour. 🐝🐞🦋🎨

The best part? They didn’t just make things… they discovered things. 🌱

They experimented.
They observed.
They tried, changed, laughed and tried again.
They used their senses.
They worked those little fingers.
They shared ideas.
And most importantly, they had FUN while learning..

And then came snack time… because apparently butterflies taste even better when they're made from apples and bread. 😂🦋🍎🍞

These are the moments we treasure.. the messy, colourful, slightly chaotic, completely precious moments where childhood and learning meet. 🥹🌼

Here’s to growing little hearts, curious minds and confident little humans who aren't afraid to get their hands dirty while discovering something new. 🌻

For the past two weeks, our Little Rascals have been busy creating something truly special! 🎨✋💛

Through our Little Hands, Wild Hearts project, our children explored colours, creativity, imagination, fine-motor skills, patterns, self-expression and so much more — all while learning through play and having FUN! 🐝🦁🐢🌸

Because at Little Rascals, we believe that preschool isn't just about preparing little minds for school… it's about giving children a place where they can explore, create, make friends, build confidence and simply enjoy being little. 🌱✨

🌈🔢 Morning Ring Magic at Little Rascals Pre-School! 🔢🌈

Today our little learners explored the wonderful world of numbers during Morning Ring! 💛

Through fun, hands-on learning, each child had the opportunity to recognise, identify and talk about their number card while building confidence in front of their friends.

Learning numbers is about so much more than counting—it helps children develop: ⭐ Number recognition ⭐ Early maths skills ⭐ Memory and concentration ⭐ Listening and communication ⭐ Confidence and turn-taking ⭐ Problem-solving ⭐ Fine motor skills

🌈✨ SURPRISE! JUMPING CASTLE FUN DAY! ✨🌈

What a wonderful surprise our Little Rascals had today! 💛

There were squeals of excitement, big smiles, lots of laughter, and endless bouncing as our little learners enjoyed a special Jumping Castle Fun Day! Seeing their happy faces reminded us that some of the best learning happens when children are simply having fun.

While they thought they were just climbing, sliding and jumping, they were actually developing so many important skills: 💚 Gross motor development 💙 Balance and coordination 🩷 Confidence 🧡 Social skills and teamwork 💜 Sensory development 💛 Problem-solving skills

And yes... our teachers even climbed on to help the little ones! 🤭💙 At Little Rascals Preschool, we believe no adventure is too big when it comes to keeping our children safe, supported and smiling.

🐢🌈 Our Rainbow Turtle Project 🌈🐢

Today our classroom was filled with busy little hands, colourful paper, and lots of excited smiles! Watching our children work together on their turtles was a beautiful reminder that learning is often happening quietly through play.

✨ Fun turtle facts for our little explorers:

* Turtles have been on Earth for more than 200 million years — they lived alongside the dinosaurs!

* A turtle’s shell is actually part of its body and is connected to its ribs.

* Some turtles can live for many decades, and a few species can even live for over 100 years.

* Turtles use their strong front legs like little paddles when swimming.

* Baby turtles are called hatchlings and are tiny when they first emerge from their eggs.

* Many turtles are excellent navigators and can find their way back to familiar places.

Just like our turtle, every child added something unique — a colour, a shape, an idea, a smile. Together those tiny contributions became something truly special. 💛

We are so proud of our little artists and the joy they bring into our classroom every day.

🧱✨ BIG IDEAS START WITH SMALL BLOCKS ✨🧱

Today at Little Rascals Play School, our little builders explored the wonderful world of construction, creativity, and problem-solving through building blocks.

While it may look like simple play, every tower, flower, bridge, and structure required planning, concentration, perseverance, and imagination. As the children experimented with different materials and designs, they were developing important early learning skills without even realising it.

🌟 Building activities help children:
🧩 Strengthen problem-solving skills
🖐 Develop fine motor control
🏗 Explore shapes, balance, and structure
💡 Encourage creativity and imagination
🤝 Build confidence and teamwork

🤓 Fun Fact #1: Children who regularly build with blocks develop stronger early maths skills because they learn about shapes, patterns, size, and spatial awareness through play.

🌈🎨 COLOUR SORTING FUN! 🎨🌈

Learning through play is one of the most powerful ways young children develop essential skills, and today our little learners had so much fun exploring colours through a hands-on colour sorting activity! ❤️💛💙

Using colourful objects and matching hoops, the children sorted items by colour while strengthening important developmental skills such as:

✨ Colour recognition ✨ Concentration and focus ✨ Fine motor development ✨ Hand-eye coordination ✨ Problem-solving skills ✨ Independent thinking

Activities like these may look simple, but they lay the foundation for future learning in maths, reading, and everyday problem-solving. Most importantly, they help children build confidence while having fun!

At Little Rascals Play School, we believe that every play opportunity is a learning opportunity. Watching our little learners think, explore, and proudly place each item in the correct colour group was such a joy! 🥰

💛 THROUGH THEIR EYES 💛

As teachers, we spend so much time guiding, encouraging, teaching, comforting, and cheering little ones on. Sometimes we forget just how much they notice.

We recently asked some of our children a few questions about Teacher Danii, and their answers melted our hearts. 🥹

The words that came up again and again were:
✨ Kind
✨ Helpful
✨ Happy
✨ Hugs
✨ Learning
✨ Dance parties
✨ "It's okay, try again."

What stood out most was not just what they are learning, but how they feel while learning.

Feeling safe enough to make mistakes.
Feeling brave enough to try again.
Feeling supported when something is difficult.
Feeling proud when they succeed.

At Little Rascals Play School, we believe that children learn best when they feel loved, valued, and understood. The relationships we build with our little learners are just as important as the lessons we teach.
