Two students, two first solos, and a great week of flying! ✈️👏

Congratulations to Bhavya Gautam and Josh Brink on completing their first solo flights!

Bhavya took to the skies solo on 2 September after just 18.9 hours of training, a fantastic achievement under the guidance of Instructor Sindhura Suvarna.

A big well done to Josh too, reaching this important milestone with Instructor Aly Ahmed.

From 24–27 September, EAA Chapter 973 will be hosting four days of aviation, education, competition and family-friendly activities at Jack Taylor Airfield (FAKR) in Krugersdorp.

Excellentia Airline Academy will be presenting alongside Sling Aircraft, and we’re looking forward to meeting local aspiring pilots and anyone keen to learn more about turning a passion for aviation into a flying career.

The programme includes aircraft displays, flying demonstrations, aviation workshops, a STOL event, the launch of the EAA 973 Aviation Youth Development Program and plenty of evening entertainment. You can even camp under your wing, Oshkosh style! Or there will be tents to rent and caravan spaces too.

Come and enjoy the spirit of aviation with us.
