A huge thank you to everyone who helped make Saturday’s International Young Eagles Day such a massive success! 💙✈️

It was a beautiful day with EAA Chapter 973 at Jack Taylor Airfield, with 70 Young Eagles getting the chance to experience the joy of flight for the very first time as part of EAA’s global MISSION 2.5 initiative.

A total of 21 pilots volunteered their aircraft and time to help inspire the next generation of aviators — creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Well done to:
Liam Nel
Christin Nel
Tiani du Toit
Isabella Allaman
Tshiamo Mavi
Malcom Oziligbo
Shanice Jane Walker
Kayla Demi Fay
Janine and Micke-Lee (with their excellent wing-top splits! 😄)

And a special thank you to our Excellentia pilots on the day:
Shehu Khalil
Mario Fanous
Ali Mohamed

The Young Eagles programme gives young people aged 8–17 the opportunity to experience flight and discover the world of aviation first hand.

Thank you to EAA Chapter 973, Krugersdorp Flying Club, all the volunteers, pilots, ground crew and supporters who made the day possible.

The next Young Eagles Day will be hosted by EAA Chapter 322 at Kitty Hawk Aerodrome on 11 July 2026.
