🎙 Spotlight Series with Yonathan Keren
How do you explain Lewis Deep Democracy to someone who has never experienced it before?
In this moment, Yonathan offers a deeply personal answer. Beyond facilitation tools, decision-making, and conflict resolution, he describes LDD as a way of becoming more whole by bringing what is hidden, unspoken, or unseen into the light.
For Yonathan, the work is not only about understanding the group. It is also about understanding ourselves.

🎙 Spotlight Series with Yonathan Keren
What happens when conflict work moves beyond theory and into the realities of cities, violence, policing, and human behaviour?
In this moment, Yonathan Keren shares with Belamie Peddle how Lewis Deep Democracy is being used with police teams and youth workers in Amsterdam to work with high-tension situations - not only to reduce conflict, but to help people understand themselves differently through it.
Yonathan reflects on why real conflict work is about more than managing behaviour. For him, it’s about awareness, responsibility, and helping people reconnect with themselves in a way that changes how they relate to others moving forward.
Watch to the end to hear why he believes understanding ourselves better changes the way we understand the world.

🎙 NEW Spotlight Series guest: Yonathan Keren
Yonathan Keren, based in the Netherlands, shares with Belamie Peddle how Lewis Deep Democracy first entered his life through education and conflict work - but quickly became something deeply personal.
In this moment, Yonathan reflects on arriving at his first Lewis Deep Democracy training, thinking he was there to help his students… only to realise he was the one who needed the work most.
Watch to the end to hear how conflict became the beginning of a completely different relationship with himself.

Avoidance often gets mistaken for maturity.
It looks calm.
Polite. Professional.
Like “keeping things under control.”
But underneath, it creates resistance.
It shows up as conversations that go nowhere, decisions people don’t really own, and tension carried quietly by a few.
Conflict isn’t the problem.
Avoidance is. 🎈🌵
What’s one tension you notice yourself avoiding right now?
💡Turning Tension into Trust is launching soon! A new online course for anyone ready to work with tension differently, build trust, and move conversations forward.
What happens when 10,000 people fall silent in the desert?
In this reflection, Myrna Lewis shares a powerful moment from AfrikaBurn - the burning of the temple beneath the moon and stars, held in complete silence.
For Myrna, it echoed the heart of Lewis Deep Democracy: the connection, care, and transformation that can emerge after tension has been moved through.
