Crossroads School Celebrating 60 years of supporting the remedial journey. All classes are kept at a manageable size of 14
children. Parents receive support and training.

Today’s children are the building blocks of tomorrow - and at Crossroads
School that sentiment has been taken a step further in its aim to build a legacy. The school motto “Let none be left behind” is the building block of its very
foundation and educators strive to ensure that this motto is fulfilled. Learning challenges are caused by many factors that are not necessarily
understood and addressed

within the mainstream schooling system. Founded in
1966, Crossroads School has its roots in an in-depth understanding of children
faced with learning difficulties. This has allowed Crossroads School to be
acknowledged as one of the leading schools in remedial education. The school strongly believes in a nurturing environment with each learner given a
fair quota of individual attention. The aim at Crossroads School is to unlock the potential within the child in order
to assist them to excel within a mainstream school environment. Crossroads
graduates have moved on to become well-rounded individuals and leaders in the
field of business, aviation, medicine and engineering. Not only does the school concentrate on the learner’s academic capabilities but
also on emotional growth, thereby ensuring that a disciplined and focused child
emerges, ready to take on the challenges of further education. At Crossroads School we recognise that every child is an individual with
unique challenges. By ensuring that teaching is tailored to accommodate each
individual’s learning capability, the use of Individual Education Plans is utilised
throughout the school. A multi-disciplined approach to learning exists. This consists of
• Classroom Educators
• Speech and Language Therapists
• Occupational Therapists
• Psychologists
• Learning Support Therapists and the
• Parents
Crossroads School emphasises team work between not only learners, but parents
and the educators as well. The involvement of all concerned with the learners, allows an understanding
to develop whereby the learner is given unspoken freedom to flourish and the
opportunity to excel in all aspects of growth and development. This serves to allow the learner to deal with further education in a focused,
disciplined and confident manner.

Our grade 7, 8 and 9 learners recently headed off on camp. Grade 7 focused on leadership and adventure, while grades 8 and 9 took on adventure challenges as part of the President’s Award.
Camps are a wonderful opportunity for learners to build confidence, develop teamwork and step outside their comfort zones - because some of life’s best learning happens beyond the classroom.

What an incredible day.
We were proud to host the inaugural INCLUDE LSEN Symposium 2026, and were thrilled that the event was fully booked.
