President OR Tambo’s enduring legacy reminds the world that the pursuit of freedom and justice knows no borders. His call, “The fight for freedom must go on until it is won,” continues to inspire principled leadership and courageous action across generations.

TAMBO THE FOUNDING FATHER

Oliver Tambo’s visionary leadership laid the foundation for South Africa’s democracy. His commitment to human rights, non-racialism, and the rule of law continues to guide our nation’s journey toward justice and equality.

This evening we will begin the ANC Foundation Course Sessions for the ANC’s National Executive Committee with a presentation on “The National Democratic Revolution and Counter-revolution in South Africa” by an ANC veteran, Cde Thami Ntenteni.

Her Excellency, Former Deputy President of the Republic of South Africa, Dr Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka delivered the 1st Annual OR Tambo School of Leadership Public Lecture titled “From Kliptown to CODESA to the National Dialogue - Reclaiming the Legacy of OR Tambo.”

During her lecture, she implored us, amongst others, to never find comfort in despair in the face of present day challenges but raise to the occasion presented by the epoch by dirtying our hands and sharpening our minds in the quest of progressive and sustainable solutions. She encouraged us to emulate the exemplary leadership of President Oliver Reginald Tambo.

“The Tambo in you must come out now!” Dr Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka implored us.
