Low muscle tone is often noticeable, yet not always fully understood. Children with varying needs may present with low muscle tone, while others may have it without any apparent additional challenges. Regardless, low muscle tone significantly impacts the way children learn to swim and develop their strokes. Traditional teaching methods may not yield the same results, requiring coaches and instructors to adapt their approach.

This 2 part series equips swim coaches and instructors with the knowledge to identify low muscle tone, understand its implications on endurance and skill development, and adjust training programs accordingly. Participants will gain practical strategies to modify lessons, maximise resources, and provide the best possible support for swimmers with low muscle tone, ensuring a more inclusive and effective learning experience.
