This week at Club Engage Pinnacle College Ridge View - Primary, our Art activity took us on a creative journey all the way back to Ancient Egypt.

Our children became little explorers, artists and storytellers as they created their very own papyrus-style scrolls using brown paper bags. They cut, pasted, crumpled and aged the paper to give it that ancient scroll look before becoming mini scribes and adding Egyptian-inspired symbols. From the Eye of Horus and the Ankh to the cobra, sun symbols and water pots, each scroll became its own piece of history, filled with meaning and imagination.

We also crowned our own pharaohs and queens with colourful Ancient Egypt collars. Using paper plates, paint, glitter, buttons and beads, the children created bold, bright designs fit for royalty. Each collar was different, showing off their creativity, confidence and personal style.

It was a wonderful week of colour, creativity, storytelling and hands-on learning, with every child bringing a little piece of Ancient Egypt to life.

How do we keep track of every child in our care?

Whether children are with us for aftercare, holiday care, or both, one thing remains the same: clear systems matter.

Children may arrive from class, join us at a holiday care venue, move between activities, leave for extra murals, return to the Club Engage space, or be collected at different times.

That is why we use practical records to help us keep track of:

• which children are signed into our care
• when children are signed out
• parent signatures at collection
• visitors who enter the Club Engage space
• children leaving for extra murals
• children returning from extra murals
• late collections
• children who are not yet on the booking system

These small systems help create a clearer picture of who is in our care, who has entered the space, where children are moving, and what changes to the normal routine need to be recorded.

Because in children’s care, the small details are never small.

Small checks. Big care.

🍕 A Slice of Holiday Fun at Redhill School! 🍕

Our School Day Closure Holiday Club was filled with smiles, creativity and plenty of fun as the children enjoyed a special Pizza Making Day!

From choosing their toppings to creating their own delicious masterpieces, the children loved getting hands-on in the kitchen and proudly showing off their creations. The excitement was contagious, and the pizzas looked fantastic too!

Of course, the fun didn't stop there. The day was packed with outdoor play, building block adventures, imaginative free play and plenty of opportunities to spend time with friends.

Despite the chilly morning weather, our little heroes arrived full of energy and enthusiasm, ready to make the most of their holiday club experience. We were so proud of their positivity, creativity and willingness to jump into every activity with smiles on their faces.

Thank you to all our wonderful children for making the day so memorable. We can't wait to see what adventures our next Holiday Club day brings!

Last week at Kitsong School , our theme was Ocean and Water, giving the children a chance to dive into sea life through hands-on creativity and playful learning. They created colourful octopuses and cheerful crabs using coloured paper, cutting, pasting, drawing and painting techniques, turning simple materials into bright ocean characters.

These activities supported fine motor development, creativity, concentration and active participation, while helping the children build their understanding of ocean animals in a fun and engaging way. It was a lovely example of REACH in action, with curious minds, busy hands and plenty of imagination flowing through the week.

This week at Club Engage Dainfern College, our theme was Drama & Poetry, and our little performers stepped straight into the spotlight.

The children explored the world of acting through facial expressions, body language and imagination. They showed us their best reactions to surprise splashes, favourite football players, spooky moments and the joy of opening a dream gift. From shocked faces to big smiles, every moment helped build confidence, creativity, communication and emotional expression.

We ended the day with active constructive play, including exciting challenges like the grab-the-balloon race and the fast-paced ball-and-cup race. A wonderful mix of drama, movement, laughter and teamwork.

Today we celebrate International Day of Play! 🌈✨

At Club Engage, we believe play is so much more than “just fun”. It is how children explore, imagine, connect, problem-solve and grow.
Whether it is building towers, making messy art, inventing games, laughing with friends or simply being curious, play helps children develop confidence, creativity and important life skills.

Every day, our aftercare and holiday care programmes create space for children to be children - safe, happy, active and engaged.💛
