St Katharine’s was started in 1916 as a small community school which valued joy in learning, the arts, music and excellence in academic endeavour – a foundation that underpins our school culture to this day. The Grade 4’s collected games and puzzles to donate to St Mary’s Children’s Home. After handing over their gifts, they spent time playing and connecting with the children. Everyone had so much fun that the Grade 4s didn’t want to leave!

From the 23rd to 26th of June, our Grade 7 hockey tour team embarked on an action-packed tour to the Lowveld.

On the turf, they showed incredible grit and heart across four tough and competitive matches against Laerskool Laeveld, Penryn Prep, Uplands Prep and Curro Nelspruit, wrapping up the match days with social braais and mini-hockey with their hosts.
Off the turf, the girls bonded through team-building games, explored the Sudwala Caves and gardens and shared a heartwarming interaction with rescued elephants at Elephant Whispers.

A big thank you to Miss Robertson and Mev Meintjes for accompanying the girls.

Day 3 & 4 of Wonder Week

From a fan-favourite performance by Hooked on Books to a fascinating visit to the David Krut Printmaking Studio, the girls were immersed in a wide range of enriching experiences. We were privileged to hear inspiring talks from Judge Kriegler and Nicole Fritz, sparking thought-provoking conversations and new perspectives.
Other highlights included a visit to Play Africa alongside the Grade 2 learners from , time spent in the sensory space, an exciting visit to Sling Aircraft, exploring the Melville Koppies and Zoo Lake, baking activities, and a memorable VR experience—to name just a few.

Wonder Week continues to inspire curiosity, creativity and a love of learning as our learners engage with the world around them in meaningful and memorable ways.

Day 1 & 2 of Wonder Week
Our girls have enjoyed an amazing race in their grade ladder groups, explored exciting discoveries at the science fair, and tested their skills in Minute to Win It games. There has been creative collaboration through Big and Little Sister artwork and inspiring experiences on trips to the planetarium, the botanical gardens, and Nirox Park. To top it all off, we’ve been privileged to hear a number of inspirational talks.

Phew! We’ve packed so much into the first two days and there is still so much more to look forward to. ✨🌟
