On Friday 24 October our students went to Linden Pool to learn about lifesaving. It was a great success, well organised and our learners learnt so much. I so love it when we see our students' skills and passions in action! The students most definitely benefited from this wonderful opportunity - and had fun.

On 6 September, the Yebo Gogga! exhibition at Wits University gave our seniors a great opportunity to learn about the sciences at Wits.
We watched as DNA was extracted; we saw how flies helped with the decomposition process; we learned how different chemicals create different coloured flames; we tasted Mopani worm stew. The workings of the hive mind in the bee colony held us in awe. Wetlands, rocks, fossils, birds, bugs and snakes. There was something for everyone.
This was a unique opportunity for learners to see the world from a different perspective and to experience a lively and busy university campus for a morning.

During the third term our Grade 6-9 learners went to Sci-Bono - a science centre that supports Maths, Science and Technology. They experienced different aspects of Science, from bugs to the effect of mirrors, and had fun with lots of different gadgets. They all had the best time and learnt so much.

The CPR info and demonstration session was excellent yesterday! Thank you to Shelley for setting it up and special thanks to Doug for doing the demos and facilitating each student to practise the technique on a dummy. Such a professional and kind manner.
Vanessa, the experienced paramedic and lecturer did a superb job making the theory interesting and memorable.
