Meet Mrs Mills 💙

This time, we’re getting to know a little more about Mrs Mills and her family.

Mrs Mills is a proud mom of two. Her daughter, Rebecca, is 19 and her son, Eli, is 17.

Family means a great deal to Mrs Mills and we look forward to welcoming her to St Teresa’s School next term and getting to know her even better.

Keep an eye out for our next Meet Mrs Mills post! 🌹

Mercy in action 💙

As part of our annual Mercy Ministries initiative, during Term 2 our Grade 8 Rosies spent time serving the wider community through a hands-on outreach project.

The girls peeled and chopped enough carrots and potatoes to fill four 20-litre tubs for meals prepared at the Sisters of Mercy Immaculata Shelter, made 200 jam sandwiches and assembled 100 care packages with essential toiletries.

Working together with generosity and purpose, the girls put Mercy into practice through service, compassion and care for others, the Rosie Way.

Eight days away from the familiar, with plenty of space to discover just how capable they are. 🌿💙

From 29 July to 5 August, our Grade 10 High School Rosies travelled to Haenertsburg, Limpopo for Journey, an important part of their St Teresa’s School experience and a trip that many Rosies remember long after their school years are over.

Journey asks the girls to stretch themselves, work together, solve problems, appreciate the natural world and become more aware of their own strengths. It is also a chance to grow in independence, consider what they value and recognise the people, comforts and opportunities that can so easily be taken for granted.

They returned with new perspectives, stronger friendships and a few more stories to add to their Rosie years. 🌹

Hearts were full as we welcomed grandparents and special loved ones to our Junior Primary for a morning of faith, family and togetherness. 💙

From celebrating Mass and enjoying a meaningful activity together to sharing delicious treats and beautiful choir performances, Grandparents’ Day was a lovely celebration of the love, encouragement and support that grandparents and special family members bring to our Rosies’ lives.

The smiles, hugs and happy conversations showed just how precious these relationships are and how fortunate our girls are to share such special bonds across generations. 🌹

15 August | The Assumption of Mary 💙

Today we celebrate Mary, Mother of Jesus, and her Assumption, body and soul, into Heaven.

May her example of faith, courage and trust in God continue to guide our girls as they grow in faith and learn to follow God’s call in their own lives.

Our Lady of the Assumption, pray for us. 🙏🏼

Yaya Takes Centre Stage 🎭

We are delighted to celebrate Rosie Alumna Yaounde “Yaya” Mabaso, who will be taking to the stage as one of The Dynamites in Hairspray at the Centurion Theatre this October and November! ✨

Yaya’s love for the performing arts was already shining brightly during her years at St Teresa’s, where she earned a Colours Blazer for Culture for her achievements in Drama, Public Speaking and Choir. She also served as House Captain of McAuley and, in 2024, was recognised with the X-Factor Award at the ST*Ar Awards.

Today, Yaya is in her second year studying Theatre and Performance at Wits University, continuing to pursue her passion for the stage.

Yaya, we look forward to following your journey and wish you every success with Hairspray. 💙

Towards the end of Term 2, our Grade 1 Rosies welcomed the Grade 1 boys from St David’s Marist Inanda to our Junior Primary campus in Craighall Park for a morning of creativity and fun! 🎨

With an Art Attack theme, the girls and boys moved between stations where they tried their hand at shadow art, Paint a Song, brick art and bubble wand creations. They also headed outdoors for bean bag games and an obstacle course, with lots of fun along the way!

After a busy morning, everyone tucked into pizza and party packs, generously provided by our Grade 1 Class Moms. 🍕

Thank you to St David’s Marist Inanda for joining us. It was lovely to see the girls and boys creating, playing and making new friends together. 💙

Towards the end of Term 2, our Senior Primary Rosies enjoyed a week of hands-on learning, creativity and discovery across STEAM – Science, Technology, English & FAL, Art and Maths.

Each grade took on a different challenge:

🚀 Grade 7 designed and built sustainable, eco-friendly cities of the future.

🛁 Grade 6 created their own bath bombs and developed advertising campaigns to market them.

🌙 Grade 5 designed and engineered working moon buggies for lunar exploration.

🌍 Grade 4 explored the wonders of space while learning more about the dynamics of our home planet.

Along the way, the girls researched, worked in teams, built models and put their Maths, Science, English and First Additional Language skills into practice in creative and meaningful ways.

It was wonderful to welcome so many parents at the end of the week to see the girls’ projects and share in all they had created and discovered. 💙

Towards the end of Term 2, our Grade 2 Rosies enjoyed a fantastic day with the boys from St David’s Marist Inanda, making plenty of froggie friendships along the way! 🐸

The girls and boys took part in a variety of fun STEAM activities while learning fascinating facts about the life cycle of frogs. Working together, they put their teamwork and problem-solving skills into action, with plenty of smiles, curiosity and shared learning throughout the day.

A lovely opportunity to learn together, make new friends and end the term on a happy note! 💙
