Principals Conference 2026 – Sustaining Mission-Driven Leadership in Challenging Times

Over two inspiring days (30–31 July), principals from Gauteng Catholic schools gathered at the eMseni Christian Centre for the 2026 Principals Conference—a time of reflection, learning, collaboration, and renewal.
We were honoured to welcome Archbishop Stephen Cardinal Brislin, who delivered the opening address, affirming the vital role of Catholic Education in shaping lives and communities.
The conference, facilitated by Professor Elaine Rumboll, Dave Duarte, and Nqobile Ngcobo from the Western Cape, provided engaging presentations, practical insights, and interactive experiences that challenged and inspired participants.
Throughout the conference, principals shared ideas, reflected deeply on their leadership, and reconnected with their shared mission of providing faith-filled, high-quality Catholic education. The gathering concluded with the celebration of Holy Mass, during which principals recommitted themselves to mission-driven leadership in service of their school communities.
Together, we continue to lead with faith, hope, and purpose. 🙏📖

Celebration of Grade 11 Masses
On 20 and 21 May 2026, the Grade 11 Masses were joyfully celebrated at the Cathedral of Christ the King. The theme for this year was “Walking in the Footsteps of St Francis.”
Each school reflected on how they strive to live out the example and values of St Francis within their own communities. The creativity, enthusiasm, and sincerity shown in making the theme meaningful and relevant to everyday school life were evident throughout the celebrations.
As part of the preparation for the Masses, schools undertook pilgrimages by visiting their local Catholic schools, fostering a spirit of fraternity, prayer, and shared faith among the learners.
Both Masses were filled with uplifting singing, reverent worship, and a deep sense of community. Over the two days, a total of 1,721 Grade 11 learners gathered together in faith at the Cathedral.
These annual Grade 11 Masses continue to strengthen the bonds of unity, faith, and Catholic identity among our schools.
