A heartfelt thank you to Sarah Hoffman from Klikd for joining us yesterday for such an insightful and thought-provoking talk on raising children in today's digital world.
The session reminded us that digital awareness starts at home and that parents are the pilots of the household, helping to guide their children through the ever-changing online world. One of the most valuable takeaways was the importance of creating open conversations rather than pointing fingers, fostering trust, understanding, and healthy digital habits.
Thank you, Sarah, for equipping our parents with practical tools and valuable insights to navigate the digital age with confidence. Together, we can help our children thrive both online and offline.
Ever wondered what our teachers would be doing if they weren't in the classroom?
From bakers and soccer players to archaeologists and forensic scientists, our teachers certainly have a variety of dream careers!
We asked our staff what they would be doing if they weren't teachers, and their answers were as unique and inspiring as they are.
While they may have imagined different paths, we're grateful they chose the classroom and the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our students every day.
Now that we are halfway through the term, it's their turn to take a well-deserved break. Thank goodness they're teachers and that they get to enjoy their mid-term break!
Take this time to rest, recharge, and create wonderful memories with your loved ones. We look forward to welcoming you back after our mid-term break.

Roar, stomp, and gallop!
Our Grade 00 students had a wonderful time drawing some of Africa's most iconic wild animals. From the stripes of a zebra to the mighty elephant and the king of the jungle, the lion, our young artists used their creativity to bring these amazing animals to life.
Activities like these not only spark imagination but also help develop fine motor skills and a love for learning through art.
The predictions are in!
Our St Martin's staff have shared their score predictions for tomorrow's big match as Bafana Bafana take on South Korea. From confident wins to nail-biting finishes, there was no shortage of excitement and school spirit!
Now it's over to Bafana Bafana to make South Africa proud. We wish the team all the best as they take to the field and represent our nation on the world stage.
Which staff prediction will be right?
Bafana the boys! Bafana the boys!

A heartfelt thank you to all the institutions that participated in our Careers Expo.
With 36 institutions in attendance, our students had the opportunity to explore a wide range of study and career options, ask questions, and gain valuable insights into their future pathways.
Events like these play an important role in helping young people make informed decisions about their futures, and we are grateful to each institution for taking the time to share their knowledge, experiences, and advice with our students.
Thank you for investing in the next generation and helping our students dream big about what lies ahead.

As part of our Youth Day commemorations, we had the privilege of welcoming Antoinette Sithole, sister of Hector Pieterson, to St Martin's School.
Fifty years after the events of 16 June 1976, Antoinette shared her lived experience with our students and staff. Listening to her speak, it felt as though those moments had happened only yesterday. Her personal reflections brought history to life in a powerful and deeply moving way.
She spoke about her brother, Hector Pieterson, whose name has become synonymous with the Soweto Uprising, and shared the impact that day had on her family and countless South Africans. Perhaps most inspiring was her message about healing and forgiveness, and how she was able to find a path forward despite the pain and loss she experienced.
It was a thought-provoking and unforgettable conversation that reminded us of the importance of remembering our history, honouring those who came before us, and continuing to build a future rooted in understanding, compassion, and hope.
Thank you, Antoinette, for sharing your story, your wisdom, and your courage with our school community.
