π΅π¨ Music and Art in Grade 000 π¨π΅
Our Grade 000 learners recently enjoyed a creative music and art experience. While listening to a variety of musical pieces through headphones, including happy, calm, and reflective songs, they were encouraged to think about how the music made them feel.
The learners then expressed their thoughts and emotions through painting, using colours, shapes, and patterns to represent their responses to the music. This experience provided opportunities for self-expression, creativity, and communication, while supporting the development of listening skills and emotional awareness.
We loved seeing the unique ways in which each learner interpreted the music, and we are proud of the thoughtful and imaginative artwork they created. ππ¨

Today we honour the young people who changed the course of history and the young people who continue to shape it. As a school, we believe in the power of youth to ask bold questions, challenge the ordinary and build something better. Happy Youth Day.

As part of our Unit of Inquiry, learners explored the concept of how natural resources are sourced and used in everyday life. Through our investigation, we discovered that wool is obtained from sheep and discussed its many uses around the world. π
To deepen their understanding, learners engaged in a creative art experience, using wool and paint to design textured artworks. This hands-on activity encouraged curiosity, creativity, and connection-making as learners applied their new knowledge in a meaningful and engaging way.

Sensory Tray Matching Game Fun!
Today our little learners enjoyed a fun and engaging matching activity on a sensory tray, where they were asked to match big dinosaurs with their smaller versionsβsuch as matching a big T-Rex with a small T-Rex. This hands-on experience made learning even more exciting as children explored textures, shapes, and sizes while carefully making their matches.
Activities like this are very important in early childhood development as they support cognitive growth, problem-solving skills, visual discrimination, and fine motor development. It also helps children build concentration, patience, and confidence as they observe closely, think critically, and complete the task. We are so proud of their enthusiasm and active participation

Our Grade 0000 students will engage in a hands-on sensory exploration using a variety of natural materials, photographs, loose parts, and textured resources to discover patterns, shapes, lines, and colours found in nature. Through observing, touching, sorting, comparing, and discussing items such as leaves, flowers, shells, sticks, stones, and animal prints, students will begin to recognise repeating patterns and make connections to the world around them.
This open-ended exploration encourages curiosity, critical thinking, language development, creativity, and early mathematical understanding. Students will also create their own nature-inspired patterns while developing fine motor skills, communication, and a deeper appreciation for the beauty of nature.

Today, we celebrate the beauty, diversity, and spirit of Africa.
Africa Day is a reminder of the rich cultures, deep histories, resilience, and hope that unite our continent. It is a celebration of the people, traditions, languages, and stories that continue to shape and inspire the world.
As a school community with over 90 nationalities, may we continue to honour the values of unity, compassion, respect, and dignity, recognising that our diversity is one of our greatest strengths.
May we nurture young global leaders who lead with courage, kindness, integrity, and pride in who they are and where they come from.
Happy Africa Day to our entire community.

This week our Grade 000 learners took part in a fun and engaging cat-crawl movement lesson ! π±β½
The learners carefully cat crawled over rolls with balls balanced on top, collecting one ball at a time while swapping hands with each ball they picked up. Once they reached the end, they turned around and placed the balls back while continuing to cat crawl.
Through this activity, learners developed important skills such as fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, balance, bilateral coordination, core strength, concentration, and body awareness. These foundational skills support confidence, independence, early writing development, and everyday tasks.
It was wonderful to see our young learners demonstrating perseverance, focus, and enthusiasm while learning through play! π
