🍕🍔 Support Our Grade 12s – Shadow Shift Fundraiser! 🍔🍕
Our Grade 12 girls will be doing a shadow shift at Spur and Panarottis, The Glen Mall, this Thursday evening, 9 April from 18:00 - 21:00 and they need your support!
Bring the family and enjoy a meal while our learners gain real-world experience in a fun, fast-paced environment. A percentage of all meals ordered during their shift will go towards fundraising, so your dinner quite literally makes a difference.
A few important notes: This is not a school-supervised event – parents remain responsible for their children at all times
• Please be mindful that these venues can get busy – we encourage you to order and enjoy your meal rather than occupying tables unnecessarily.
Thank you for backing our Matric Girls!🙌

Farewell to Mrs Priscilla Mahlaba 💐
With both gratitude and sadness, we say goodbye to Mrs Mahlaba, a dedicated and passionate isiZulu teacher at McAuley House School.
Mrs Mahlaba has been a valued part of our school community, inspiring learners through her love for the isiZulu language and culture. Her classroom was a space of warmth, discipline, and encouragement, where learners felt confident to grow and express themselves.
More than an educator, she has been a mentor and role model. Her kindness, patience, and commitment have left a lasting impact, shaping not only academic success but also a strong sense of identity and pride.
Her contribution to McAuley House will always be remembered, and her influence will continue to be felt for years to come.
As she begins a new chapter, we wish her every success, joy, and fulfilment.
Hamba kahle, Mrs Priscilla Mahlaba. You will always be part of the McAuley House family.

As we near the end of Lent, the McAuley House school family gathered for our annual Penitential Service, a time of reflection, reconciliation and renewal.
Throughout this season, our community has grown in faith through prayer, fasting and acts of service, including our Sandwich Drive.
During the service, we reflected on the Cross as a symbol of our burdens and God’s mercy. By the end, it had been transformed into a beautiful Flowered Cross, reminding us that through forgiveness and grace, brokenness becomes hope and new life.
The Flowered Cross was donated to Frederic Place Home for the Aged, where it will be enjoyed by residents.
As we journey towards Easter, may we continue to live with mercy, reconciliation and hope.

Last Friday, our entire school community came together to celebrate South African Library Week with Book Character Day. Learners and staff embraced the spirit of reading by dressing as their favourite characters, filling the day with creativity and joy.
A wonderful reminder of the power of books to inspire and connect us all. 📖💫

Today our school community gathered for Ash Wednesday Mass, marking the beginning of the Lenten season.
With ashes placed on our foreheads, we were reminded to reflect, repent and renew our hearts before the Lord. It was a reverent and meaningful time as learners and staff paused together in prayer, committing the weeks ahead to spiritual growth, humility and deeper faith.
May this Lenten journey draw us closer to Christ and to one another.
