Welcome to 2026!
We are looking forward to another incredible year with all of you. As we always say: "The enemy of progress is your last achievement." We are ready to aim even higher this year!
Over the last few weeks, we have been humbled by the messages of appreciation received from our 2025 learners and parents. We were touched to hear not only from those who achieved top marks but also from students who faced challenges and still valued our dedication to simplifying .
Let’s all enjoy the journey of 2026 and have fun learning.

Remember: You become a master of Mathematics by doing it. Keep studying, practicing, and solving problems!

Dear Learners & Parents,

As the saying goes, "Feedback is the breakfast of champions."

Please remember to share your final results with us. So far, the feedback has been diverse and encouraging:

🏆 Top Achievers: We have received results of 89% and 90% (Top Award).

📈 Solid Progress: We have seen marks of 70%.

💪 Room to Grow: To those with marks like 59% or 45%—do not be discouraged.

At Lions Akadimia, we believe in Continuous Improvement. Lower marks are simply an indication that we need to work smarter or try a different approach. We will bounce back stronger!

🎄 Holiday Plan & Support:
Gap Closing: Please send us the specific topics you want to focus on during the holidays so we can close any gaps before the 2026 school year begins.

Schedule: Holiday sessions are likely to start around 15 December (after a short family break).

Matric Class of 2025:
We will be introducing a Varsity Math Prep session this holiday to give you a competitive advantage for the year ahead.

🙏 A Special Thank You:

Thank you for your continued support, especially to those recommending us to others. Please continue to spread the good news! Your referrals bring us closer to our vision of opening a dedicated Excellence School in the future.
Regards,

Lions Akadimia Team

Lockdown presented hurdles,
but it also inspired us to find new ways to support our learners.

Thrilled to have guided them through the entire Grade 11 & 12 syllabus by April, including mock exams and valuable tips for the NBT and Amplitude (scholarship) tests.

We're now focused on building a strong foundation by covering Grade 8-10 topics by June. Giving our students the edge they deserve!

25/04/2025

Our Grade 11 and 12 learners have been working incredibly hard, having completed their entire Mathematics syllabus and tackled some challenging topics over the past few weeks!

Now, they're gearing up for a tough, high-standard exam on April 27th (Paper 1) and May 1st (Paper 2).

We're aiming for Level 7 success (80%+) in their November exams, paving the way for university entrance at institutions like UCT(University of Cape Town ).

Remember, preparation is the cornerstone of success! We believe that achieving a distinction in Maths by May/June will boost their confidence and encourage improvement across all subjects.

Let's strive for excellence!

Dear Matric Learners, class of 2025.

Please take note of all tertiary institutions ' application process: especially closing dates.

1. Please apply as soon as they open and complete the application on the 1st or 2nd week of the opening date. Then, FOCUS on your studies

2. Aim for varsity entrance requirements, not Department ' definition of Bachelors/ diploma/etc.
At minimum(if you think of 50% as pass mark in all your subjects then Matric ' bachelor certificate is guaranteed but unlikely to make it for Bachelor' degree at University)

3. Please note: You are too young to take GAP year from studies.

4. Matric class of 2025 is likely to set a new record of pass rate. I.e tough competition to get space at tertiary institutions in 2026. Aim for maximum level, as opposed to minimum entrance requirements

5. Lastly, when varsity says MATHEMATICS is required, there are referring to Pure Mathematics. LITERACY(Mat LITERACY) is NOT Mathematics

All the best with your studies.

Please note below comment from our passionate Mathematics Tutor (Mr Benedict Benni Mashile)

Yesterday [on 4th April 2024], I was asked, " What stresses you?"

Benedict Mashile:
When Matric results are about to come out, thinking of my Matric learners. What if a few learners managed to get distinctions.
Also stresses about the number of learners scared of pure mathematics and end up taking literacy instead of Pure Mathematics.

My goal is to help as many learners get distinctions so they qualify for 1st career choice and get accepted to study their 1st option and their 1st preferred university.

To give them the advantage to excel on other subjects and life in general.

In 2022, I had 2 learners with 100% in math. And 5 learners accepted at UCT

In 2023, I had 3 learners who managed at least 90% in math(94, 94 and 93), one of them sent me an apology for failing to get 100% that he promised me.
One learner got 78% in math and was rejected at UCT, some got 59, 66, 66.

The 59, 66, 66 and 78 in , Pushed me to start early in 2024 .on 3rd April 2024, I finished the mathematics syllabus. Hoping for better results this year, we will be doing revision, past papers, repeating some topics , writing mock exams, they will have more time for other subjects, while excellence in math is guaranteed

Passion is more powerful than opposition.
We can all get better in mathematics....
Benedict Benni Mashile
