Our online conference presentation on 8 June by Prof Falik will identify the integration of process elements of therapeutic interaction that has MLE components as a foundational platform for promoting behavioural and cognitive change. A model for social cognition will be described. The second part will focus on applying the model presented in the first part, analysing vignettes of interactions, and mapping them according to the model.

Ringing out 2021 because we didn’t get to it in December! What a joy it was to have our Grade Seven Class of 2021 visit us today. The news of their high school start at schools all over Gauteng was so encouraging.

At school, we’re thinking around our theme ‘humility, humanity, humour’ and how this can play out in our community.

On the Grade Three nature field trip they found a massive Euphorbia. Quite a surprise when you consider that it is right in the heart of Sandton!

Taking the plunge and going on camp after pandemic two years was not a decision taken lightly. But as the sun shines and the air blows fresh, our grade sixes are basking in their ‘bubble’!

This module provides a Deeper Understanding of Reading and Dyslexia to gain insight into reading difficulties and dyslexia. It focuses on the definitions and causality and looks broadly at co-occurring difficulties and the impact that dyslexia has on learning. The reading brain and the acquisition of reading and language will also be explored. Practical, evidence-based reading strategies and tools on teaching methods will be learned.

Grade One off to the right start!

A few memories from the Grade Seven class of 2016. The children always appreciate that you initiated a blazer for seniors!

This is our ‘Trust Tree’ drawn by a student in 2016. The tree stands proud in the centre of our school. It reminds us to trust the process. Tonight, Bellavista awaits the results of the Matric cohort 2021, our class of 2016. We know they’ve already done well.

We trust the process; there’s no ‘good luck’ about it - intervene early, sow the seeds, watch them grow!
