Curro Aurora in Randburg offers learners from 2 years a wonderful education in excellent facilities. Welcome to the Curro Aurora!
We are an English, Co-ed school, catering for ages 3ys (Group 3 ) to Grade 12. Our school’s journey has been dynamic and compelling. Ours is an environment that celebrates individual uniqueness so that all who pass through here are empowered to lead
lives of purpose and relevance. At the fundamental core of Curro Aurora lies a real, tangible desire to connect. When one walks around our beautiful
campus, it becomes fast apparent that relationships permeate our educational programme. As John Maxwell attests, “In times of difficulty, relationships are a shelter. In times of opportunity, they are a launching pad.” Our school is Smart and Friendly. While the Curro Aurora learner is smartly attired, they are encouraged to be politely outspoken. Our educators remain available to their learners at all times to offer assistance, remediation or simply to be there to listen. At the heart of these relationships is the earnest effort to live our 5 values:
Integrity
Courage
Accountability
Respect
Empathy
It is critical that education meets our learners in their world. As such, we embrace multiple technologies and, possibly more significantly, are streamlining the key 21st Century skills of Communication, Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, Meta-Cognition and Motivation of self into our planning. One of the privileges of working at Curro Aurora is being a member of a staff body that constantly seeks to improve its collective offering; this should be the case if one considers the ever-morphing world of our children. We are proud, too, of our Total Education package. It is our fervent desire to educate the entire child, be it through academics, cultural pursuits, sports, clubs and societies, leadership initiatives, enrichment programmes or society-building initiatives. We expect a high level of accountability from our young charges and, having done exactly that, they produce exceptional work across the gambit of school activities. Our learners are truly accountable for their school, just as they will be truly accountable for leading the future of our country. Curro Aurora, therefore, accepts the dire responsibility of empowering the future of our country, today. When our learners return for their respective 10-year reunions, we hope that they reminisce about a home away from home where they had fun, where they were engaged, where they felt invested, where they felt celebrated and celebrated others, where they were inspired to explore and discover new things, where they felt secure enough to try and where they believed that they were – and would be – a game-changer. We have waiting lists in most of our grades. Please apply today to avoid disappointment.

Today was a very special day in our Foundation Phase as our Grade 1s celebrated 100 days of school! 🥳
This year, we marked this special milestone in a meaningful way by focusing on “Acts of Kindness.” Our goal was to encourage our learners to spread kindness and make a positive impact on those around them. ♥
Each learner received a template to take home. As they completed their acts of kindness (maximum of 5 per a learner), we asked parents to assist their child in writing a short description of the kind act they performed and capturing a photo of the moment. 📸
These were then shared with our Grade 1 teachers who proudly displayed them in the front foyer for our school community to see and celebrate. 👏
Acts of kindness can be simple and thoughtful gestures shown to a friend, family member, or someone in the community. Through this activity, learners developed empathy, compassion and an understanding of how small actions can make a big difference in the lives of others. 🥰
Learners then celebrated this special occasion by coming to school dressed in bright, colourful clothing. 🤩
Well done Grade 1s! We are so proud of you for spreading kindness and love! 🥰

11 June 2010. The roar of the vuvuzelas. South Africa hosting the world. And then that unforgettable moment when Siphiwe Tshabalala scored the first goal of the FIFA World Cup™ ... a goal that united a nation and inspired a continent.
Today, as Bafana Bafana take to the field, we're reminded of what is possible when South Africans come together and believe.
'Goal Bafana Bafana
Goal for South Africa'
Upcoming matches:
• 11 June: South Africa vs Mexico
• 18 June: South Africa vs Czechia
• 24 June: South Africa vs Korea Republic
We wish our team all the best for this evening and the games ahead. We back you all the way ... play with pride, passion and heart.
Let’s go, Bafana Bafana! 💚💛

We are so proud of our U9 football team who made it to the semi-final of the Discovery Cup! ⚽
There was a total of 64 teams competing in the U9 age group alone, so this is a huge accomplishment! 👏

Our High School learners recently took the stage at the Festival of Excellence in Dramatic Arts (FEDA) at the Joburg Theatre. This year, the festival boasted 64 plays written, directed and performed by young adults and learners from various schools. 🥳🎭
For our learners to be a part of this magic means more than we can imagine. ✨
There is a sense of awe and wonder that washes over you as you witness these young learners tell their stories; because sometimes the most powerful stories aren’t about what’s happening in the headlines, but about what’s happening inside us. The arts- whether theatre, music, dance, or visual expression- have this uncanny ability to shift perspectives, ignite empathy, and remind us of our shared humanity. 🤗
In a world that often feels rushed and transactional, the arts invite us to pause, reflect, and connect. They remind us that culture isn’t just something we consume, it’s something we live, breathe and create together. 💙
A huge congratulations to the cast of Black Bird who performed and moved a theatre full of people to laughter, joy and tears. 🤩👏

We are so excited to announce that we have a rising star in our midst! 🌟
Bontle Phakoane, one of our talented Grade 7 learners, has recently achieved an incredible milestone after successfully auditioning for iPOP! She has successfully progressed through two highly competitive rounds of auditions and has now earned the opportunity to travel to Los Angeles in January 2027. ✈️✨
iPOP! promotes emerging talent to leading agents, managers, casting directors and music industry professionals. Several internationally recognised stars began their journeys through iPOP!, including Zendaya (singer and actress), Olivia Holt (actress, producer and singer-songwriter) and Madison Pettis (actress). This demonstrates the incredible opportunities the platform can offer. 🤩
We are extremely proud of Bontle’s achievement and wish her every success as she continues pursuing her dreams in the performing arts industry. We cannot wait to see what the future holds for her! 🥳🎭
Well done Bontle! 💙

In Grade R, learning happens through cross-curricular, integrated activities and the past 2 weeks have been all about Ocean Life! 🌊
Station 1: Turtle Artwork 🐢
Drawing, cutting, pasting, stamping and paper tearing all came together to create these incredible turtles! Our Grade Rs showed amazing focus and creativity with every step. 🤩
They learned a variety of skills from this project, including fine motor development, hand-eye coordination, following multi-step instructions and self-expression through art. 👏
Station 2: Jellyfish Creations 🪼
Our jellyfish came to life as our children threaded colourful beads onto their wiggly tentacles. It was a wonderful way to practice pattern-making and build fine motor skills.
In this activity, our Grade Rs practiced bilateral coordination, counting and patterns, pencil grip and concentration. 👌
Well done Grade Rs! We love your ocean themed artwork! 💙
To learn more about our Grade R offering, please join us at our upcoming Preschool and Grade R Open Day on 24 June! RSVP here: https://ow.ly/IONM50Z14eu
