I have been teaching pre-school music since 1994 and, at the request of interested teachers, started running MUSIC IS THE ANSWER workshops in 1998 to help them give more interesting music rings. DRUMMING, started in 2000

DRUMMING DOES IT
I bring my small Zulu drums to your school and 'play' rhythm games and songs that help develop literacy, numeracy and social skills in young children. The research I have done over the years has shown that children enjoy drumming more than any other instrument and readily participate in a 30 minute drumming session.

2 STICKS AND A DRUM
A practical, hands-on 3 hr workshop developed specifically for teaches of young children to show them how rhythm games and drumming builds self-esteem and social interaction. SOUNDS AND SENSES
Ask for a consultation to discuss musical and sensory equipment to add to your playground to make it a balanced sensory experience for the children. I give SENSE-ABILITIES talks sharing loads of ideas for inside and outside play.Workshops and training is offered to schools wanting to provide stimulating sensory ideas for a CREATIVE PLAY WEEK when all the normal toys are packed up and 'sent away on holiday'. I have presented workshops to over 16,000 children, from age 2 to matric, and 5000 teachers and interested parents. I have presented at many Education conferences around the country, some of which have been for ISASA, UNISA, SAOU, NAPTOSA, the Peadeatric Audiology Conference and the 7th World Convention of the International Confederation of Principals in Cape Town in 2005.

This is SO scary! And its not the teachers who need to get the children moving - its the PARENTS.Children can't sit still and they can't learn unless they have core strength which is developed from moving their bodies in all directions often and for long periods of time. Let them play outside, hang from ropes and poles, climb trees, roll down hills, carry heavy things, .....etc ....etc.
