Before the lights came on. Before registrations opened. Before the microphones went live. Before the panelists took their seats.

There were countless meetings, phone calls, strategy sessions, pitch workshops, prayers, and moments of re-evaluation.

For me, this journey became even more special because part of the planning happened while I was in China . Many of our meetings started at 22:00 and went past midnight for me, while the team in South Africa felt 16:00 was still too early

There were moments of excitement, moments of uncertainty, and even moments when we asked ourselves, “Should we postpone?” But every challenge reminded us why we started.

We engaged partners, invited investors, mobilised entrepreneurs, conducted Radio Pulpit interviews, planned with young people, and most importantly, we prayed.

As Chairperson of the Investment Conference, I had a few personal goals: to be the first person accredited, the first to set up an exhibition stand, the first to walk down the aisle, and to run around the stage declaring God’s blessing before everyone arrived.

Then the day came.

The doors opened. Delegates arrived. Exhibitors set up. Conversations started. Connections were made. What was once only a vision became a reality. I almost broke down on stage while welcoming the audience. Those who know me know I can talk! But in that moment, I was overwhelmed with gratitude as I witnessed months of sacrifice, teamwork, faith, and perseverance come to life.

To every committee member, volunteer, youth leader, ministry leader, partner, entrepreneur, investor, speaker, exhibitor, and attendee, thank you.

This was more than a conference. It was proof that God is alive and that God answers prayers.
Woooow! We did it!
And this is only the beginning.

Learning from Hainan’s Transformation
An awesome tour to the Hainan Danjia Museum, where we learned about the rich history and culture of the Hainan Danjia people. It was inspiring to see how many communities that once depended mainly on fishing have been transformed through strategic investment in infrastructure, housing, education, and economic development.

The journey of the Danjia people reflects how visionary planning can uplift rural communities, improve livelihoods, and create sustainable cities and modern estates while preserving cultural heritage.

As a South African delegate, I am inspired by the lessons of community development, infrastructure investment, and creating opportunities that improve people’s quality of life.

From fishing villages to thriving communities, a powerful reminder that transformation is possible when people, culture, and development work together.

Mumbai 🇮🇳 gave us a tour full of surprises, colour, and unforgettable moments.

We started by exploring stunning Indian art designs, each piece telling its own story. Then came a softer chapter… relaxing at the spa like royalty before stepping back into the fast-moving energy of the city.

We passed the artificial waterfall, stopped at the famous Mumbai Selfie Point, admired the bold Car Bridge design, and walked through Shoppers Stop Mall. Then came a proud moment seeing the celebration of 100 Years of Indian Cinema history, culture, and greatness on display.

Milkshakes in hand, we thought the adventure was slowing down… but Mumbai had one more plot twist waiting for us.

We entered a massive local food market with what looked like over a hundred food outlets. The aroma, the noise, the excitement 🫣 it was like stepping into a movie scene. Before we knew it, everyone wanted us at their shop. Hands waving, voices calling, “Come here, come here!” We looked at each other… and the only option was to laugh and make a dramatic escape out of there.
We ended the day surrounded by beautiful paintings, calm again after the great market escape.
Mumbai is not just a city… it is an experience

Somewhere between the laughter, the jumping in bushes, and the freedom to just be, I found a beautiful reminder: life is meant to be lived fully, playfully, and happy
I gave myself permission to laugh louder, jump higher, love deeper, and embrace every moment of “me time.”
