Reflection on My Journey: A Tribute to the Sacred Heart
On this day, six years ago, I embarked on a transformative journey, leaving the novitiate in Ndoungue, Cameroon, where I was preparing to become a Priest of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Those days spent in the village were more than just steps in a religious path; they were the foundation of my life's mission and purpose.Leaving Cameroon and returning to South Africa marked a significant transition in my life. It was a time of reflection and integration of the profound lessons learned during my novitiate.
The spirituality and charism of the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus have profoundly influenced my life. Fr. Leo John Dehon, the founder of the Congregation, has been a guiding light, shaping my values and vision. His dedication to love, reparation, and social justice has inspired me to live a life rooted in compassion and service.Throughout my novitiate, I learned the importance of selflessness, humility, and unwavering faith. These principles have not only sustained me spiritually but have also driven me to establish the OCS Educational Support in Local Schools Pastoral Care Project NPC. This initiative is a reflection of my commitment to extend the love and teachings of the Sacred Heart into the world, particularly in education and community support.
As I look back, I am grateful for the spiritual formation and the enduring influence of Fr. Dehon's teachings. They continue to inspire me to be a beacon of hope and empowerment for others, particularly in underserved communities.May the spirituality and charism of the Sacred Heart continue to guide us all in our efforts to make the world a better place, one small act of love at a time.

Planting trees is the best way to combat climate change and pollution. This action needs to be combined with an increase in recycling efforts. If millions of people worked together to plant millions of trees, we would have a much better chance of reversing this phenomenon.
