Understanding an ITEC Case Study & Portfolio of Evidence

For ITEC students, a case study and portfolio of evidence are important ways of demonstrating that you understand the theory and can apply your skills professionally in practice.

1. Case Study
A case study is a detailed record of work carried out on a real client. It should normally show:

* Client consultation – client details, concerns, needs and treatment objectives.
* Contra-indications and precautions – relevant findings and how they affect the treatment.
* Treatment plan – products, techniques, equipment and procedures selected.
* Treatment performed – clear description of what was done and why.
* Client response – observations during and after treatment.
* Aftercare advice – home-care recommendations and advice for maintaining results.
* Evaluation – what worked well, results achieved and what could be improved.
* Photographic evidence, where required – before, during and/or after treatment.

2. Portfolio of Evidence (POE)

Your portfolio is your collection of evidence showing your competence. Depending on the specific ITEC qualification and current assessment requirements, it may include:

✨ ITEC ANNUAL MEETING 2026 — A NEW ERA BEGINS! ✨

Yesterday, 7 September 2026, we had the privilege of attending the ITEC Annual Meeting, and what an incredible and transformative meeting it was!

A lot of exciting developments were unveiled, including the introduction of new courses, with some programmes now available to be studied online, making international education more accessible and flexible than ever before. 🌍💻

There was also a major announcement around the rebranding and transition of the ITEC brand. So much is changing, and while change can sometimes feel overwhelming, we are excited because these changes are for the better.

This new chapter brings exciting opportunities for both training providers and students, with a stronger focus on innovation, accessibility, growth and keeping qualifications relevant in a rapidly changing world.
