And just like that, the final term is underway!

Although the Johannesburg weather wasn't quite giving us Spring vibes this morning, our boys and staff returned with a real spring in their steps! Waves of excitement and HAPPY smiles filled the campus as everyone reconnected for the last stretch of the year.

Our second and final stop brought us to the Mother City, and it hit all the right notes in the sweetest, most heartfelt way.

Bringing together our Old Boys, their parents, and beloved past staff for a warm, relaxed evening felt less like an event and more like coming home. The room was alive with pure nostalgia - gentle laughter echoing, eyes lighting up over old photographs, and multi-generational stories unfolding across every corner. There is a profound, quiet beauty in watching parents and their grown sons reconnect with the teachers who shaped their early years, proving that the roots planted at Pridwin run far deeper than just school days. To every single person who walked through those doors and shared a piece of their heart with us: thank you. You reminded us exactly why this community is forever family.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Pridwin’s Oldest Old Boy, Mr Brian Thorpe, who passed away on 22 July 2026 at the age of 92.

Brian was a truly special member of our community. Just a few months ago, we had the immense privilege of spending a wonderful afternoon with him. He shared stories of his school days with extraordinary clarity, warmth, and enduring affection for Pridwin.

A devoted family man, Brian leaves behind a rich legacy that spans generations - with his youngest great-grandson set to join the Pridwin family in a few years’ time.

We are deeply grateful for his lifelong connection to the school and for the memories he shared with us. Brian will be remembered with great fondness, respect, and gratitude. His place in Pridwin’s history will always be cherished.

As he is laid to rest today, our heartfelt thoughts and prayers remain with the Thorpe family during this difficult time.

Last weekend, our streets came alive for a deeply impactful Knight Run for Mandela Day - raising vital funds for the Nelson Mandela Children's Hospital.

Together, we’re setting the standard for what South African schools can achieve when we collaborate. We could not be prouder to be part of this premier educational precinct!

It is with sadness that we share the news of the passing of former Pridwin Chairman, Mr Richard Clowes.

Richard's dedication and service to Pridwin spanned more than 25 years. He joined the Pridwin Board of Governors in 1976 and later served as Chairman of the Board, leading with wisdom, integrity, and unwavering commitment. Throughout his years of service, he worked tirelessly in the best interests of the school, helping to guide and strengthen Pridwin while remaining steadfast in his belief in its values, traditions, and future.

His legacy lives on through the Richard Clowes Music Block, a lasting testament to his generosity and his belief in the importance of nurturing creativity and talent in every Pridwin boy.

Richard's leadership, vision, and support left an indelible mark on our school. He will be remembered with gratitude and respect by generations of the Pridwin community.

Our heartfelt condolences are extended to Richard's family and friends during this difficult time. May he rest in peace.

Our campus was buzzing with purpose last week as Pridwin boys and staff honored Madiba’s legacy through community service! On Friday, 17 July, our school transformed to show how small gestures make a massive difference.

Leading by example, our Grade 7s cleaned up local streets, while Grade 6s busked for charity at Rosebank Mall. Grade 5s built cardboard shelters for a Sleep-Out, funding charity soup jars with household chores. Grade 4s cooked a thank-you braai for our campus staff, and Grade 3s delivered stationery packs to St Vincent’s School for the Deaf. Grade 2s packed fresh sandwiches, Grade 1s assembled hygiene kits and soft toy donations, and our youngest, the Grade 0s, created "Soup in a Jar" mixes for St Vincent's.

From oldest to youngest, our boys showed immense heart and true leadership. Watch the video to see them in action!
