Sometimes babies can eat a lot. Because they triple in size in the first year of life! Toddlers, however, may eat very tiny amounts of food. Less than babies, even. Because they aren't growing as much.⁣⠀
⁣⠀
This is why the most powerful thing you can do with your little one is to let them decide whether to eat and how much. Don't push them to eat. Just watch them decide how much to eat.⁣⠀Some kids will eat a lot - that’s okay! Some kids will eat a little, that’s okay too. If there is truly a problem with your child’s growth, your pediatrician will bring it up with you.
⁣⠀
Maybe your little one eats the plate on the left some days. That's okay. It's also okay if your child eats two bites at a meal and is done. It's normal. It's normal. It's normal.⁣⠀

Today we highlight 14-year-old inspiration and Bionic girl Tilly Lockey - Give Tilly a Hand!

As a baby, Tilly Lockey lost both her hands to Meningitis Septicaemia which led to a life-long journey of finding the perfect prosthetics. Today Tilly has a personalised set of bionic arms!

Tilly’s bionic arms were developed by Open Bionics, a company who is building and developing the next generation of bionic limbs, turning disabilities into superpowers! What makes Tilly's and many other candidates arms different is that they have additional modes over and above open and close. All bionic advanced prosthetic arms work differently. What’s more is that they’re personalised in terms of sensitivity, learning each individuals strength for flexing and releasing muscles.

“Now kids get excited when they see me. My arms look like something out of an action movie, like from Marvel. They give other kids the idea that their disability is their superpower.” – Tilly Lockey

We received this tragic story from a PICU nurse, a post she made in a parenting group. She wants to stay anonymous for professional reasons. Thank you for your caring words, and the work you do.
