Our CEO, Dr Kershen Pillay, was a speaker at the Future of Education Summit 2026, contributing to important conversations around education funding, access and the role of different institutions in addressing the challenges facing the sector.

As part of the summit, Dr Pillay participated in the Fireside Chat: Financing Future-Ready Campuses: Sustainable Models for Transformation.

One of his key messages was clear: “It’s not a capital problem. It’s a capability problem.”

He also highlighted the importance of developing funding models that recognise and support all institutions contributing to the education solution.

South Africa’s education system faces a critical challenge: creating enough opportunities for the growing number of learners leaving school each year.

Our CEO, Dr Kershen Pillay, was a speaker at the Future of Education Summit 2026, where he shared insights on the PSET system and the need to rethink how we provide pathways beyond matric.

With universities, TVET colleges and SETAs all playing important roles, there remains a significant gap between the number of learners seeking opportunities and the spaces available to them.

His contribution highlighted the need for a more inclusive and responsive education and funding model that ensures learners are not left behind.

Creating opportunity at scale requires us to rethink how the entire education ecosystem works together.
