Phoenix Centre Presents: 'Social and Emotional Skills Training' 21/09/2021

Let's have a closer look at one of the skill trainings at the DSJ.

The social and emotional competence training "You've got this" supports the on-boarding process of our new learners in Grade 5 at the DSJ. The training aims to help create a positive classroom atmosphere with an attitude of friendliness, openness and curiosity towards ourselves, others and the world.

We teach the behaviour and attitude we love to see at the DSJ by modelling it ourselves and practising it with the learners.

Traditionally the training is run by the Phoenix Centre (this year with Anti-Bullying Counsellor Katja Fleck) and we are very fortunate to bring in Bongi Molefe, an old pupil, who herself has started in Grade 5 at the DSJ. The class teacher, this year Brigit Grässer, participates too, in order to carry on practising the skills in the class room. 💪❤
