Love and money. Two subjects adults avoid. Yet we expect teenagers to figure both out on their own.

Teenagers are shaping their beliefs about relationships and money right now. They are observing how adults handle debt, school fees, status, pressure and survival. If we do not guide them intentionally, we leave their future decision making to chance.

Global research from institutions like the OECD shows that early financial education improves long term financial behaviour. Organisations such as UNICEF highlight how financial stress affects young people’s emotional wellbeing. Money and relationships influence each other.

At Mjojo Finance Play, we use theatre based learning to create safe, relatable conversations about money, values and responsibility. The aim is simple. Build confident, self aware decision makers before adulthood.

Yesterday’s kickoff was electric. We opened with heart-centered conversations that reminded us: financial literacy isn’t just about numbers. It’s about meaning.

Our teens showed up curious, courageous, and ready to explore the deeper “why” behind their financial journeys. The energy in the room? Purposeful. Joyful. Transformative.

We’re not here to lecture. We’re here to co-create a new language for money: one rooted in values, vision, and self-belief.

Gratitude to Tarie for holding space with such warmth and wisdom. And to every teen who leaned in, you’re the reason this work matters.
