Zum Abschluss vor den Ferien erlebten unsere Regenbogen-Kids einen Tag voller Freude, Lachen und Abenteuer in vier tollen Aktionen:

🚗 RT Autokino - Die Kinder saßen in liebevoll gebastelten Karton-“Autos” und genossen ein Kinoerlebnis.
🍿 KG0 Pyjama-Party - Im Pyjama wurde gemeinsam Popcorn gegessen und ein Film entspannt geschaut.
🧸 KG Teddybär-Picknick - Mit Kuscheltieren ging es zum DSJ-Sportplatz für ein fröhliches Picknick mit Snacks und viel Spaß.
🏕️ VS Taschenfest - Bei einer Safari-Schatzsuche fanden die Kinder im Zelt ihre gewebten Taschen mit kleinen Überraschungen.

Wrapping Up Before the Holidays - A Day Full of Fun for Our Regenbogen-Kids 🎬🧸🍿🏕️

Before the holidays, our Regenbogen-Kids enjoyed a day full of joy, laughter and adventure across four activities:

🚗 RT Autokino - Children sat in cardboard “cars” and enjoyed a drive-in movie experience.
🍿 KG0 Pyjama Party - In cosy pyjamas, they shared popcorn and enjoyed a relaxed movie time.
🧸 KG Teddybear Picnic - With cuddly toys, a picnic at the DSJ sportsground filled with snacks and fun.
🏕️ VS Taschenfest - A safari treasure hunt led to their beautifully woven bags with small surprises inside.

A perfect way to start the holidays with smiles and memories ✨

Sundowner Concert

The annual Sundowner Concert in aid of the Support Fund of the Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg takes place on Saturday, 1 August 2026 at 15:00 at the DSJ in the Aula.

Conducted by Richard C**k and featuring the DSJ Orchestra, marimbas, choirs from the Secondary School, Primary School and Preschool, dancers, and soloists Hannah Horsten and Cooper Mlokoti, this festive afternoon promises wonderful music and entertainment for the whole family.

Gates open at 13:00. Glühwein and cosy winter treats available to enjoy before the concert – all for a good cause.
All children from the age of 3 need their own ticket. Children under the age of 3 years can sit on the lap of their parents.

Das jährliche Sundowner-Konzert zugunsten des Sozialfonds der Deutschen Internationalen Schule Johannesburg findet statt am Samstag, 1. August 2026 um 15:00 Uhr in der DSJ Aula.

Unter der Leitung von Richard C**k und mit dem DSJ-Orchester, der Marimba-Gruppe, den Chören der Sekundarstufe, Grundschule und Vorschule, Tänzerinnen und Tänzern sowie den Solisten Hannah Horsten und Cooper Mlokoti verspricht dieser festliche Nachmittag wunderbare Musik und Unterhaltung für die ganze Familie.

Einlass ab 13:00 Uhr. Vor dem Konzert können Glühwein und gemütliche winterliche Köstlichkeiten genossen werden – und das alles für einen guten Zweck.
Alle Kinder ab 3 Jahren benötigen ein eigenes Ticket. Kinder unter 3 Jahren können auf dem Schoß ihrer Eltern sitzen.

🤖 DSJ Robotics Camp: Mission Excellence! 🚀

44 Robotians set out on an unforgettable adventure across the Innovatium - united by curiosity, creativity and a shared quest for excellence.

From exciting robo-missions and hands-on challenges to becoming innovators and explorers, our students pushed boundaries, developed new skills and discovered just how much can be achieved through teamwork and determination.

With a memorable sleepover in the Innovatium adding to the experience, the camp became more than just a learning journey — it became a space for connection, discovery and making memories that will last far beyond the final mission.

A truly unforgettable experience filled with innovation, adventure and the spirit of DSJ Robotics. 🤖✨

🍍🥭 Tasting the Story: A Tropical Literary Adventure in Grade 5 📚🌴

Our Grade 5 learners stepped straight out of the pages of Kensuke’s Kingdom by Michael Morpurgo and onto their very own tropical island adventure - and it was delicious!

As part of an immersive literary experience, learners explored a variety of exotic island fruits, discovering the flavours and textures that bring Kensuke’s world to life. They then rolled up their sleeves and got hands-on, using pestles and mortars to create their own breakfast fruit smoothies inspired by the fruits and tastes featured in the story.

This wonderful activity transformed reading into a full sensory experience, showing how literature can come alive beyond the classroom. Our learners didn’t just read about the island - they tasted it! 🌺🍹✨

🥋 Outstanding Results – World Championship Qualification! 🌍🏅

We are incredibly proud of our karate athletes for their exceptional performances in the Open Divisions – a particularly significant category, as results achieved here count towards qualification for the World Championships next year.

A special congratulations to Barrett Flinner, Daniella Levy, Eva Levy and Safiya Barklem, who have officially qualified to compete at the World Championships 2027 through their medal performances in the Open divisions! 🎉👏
