Retirement ! Tomorrow, Wednesday 18th March 2020, Dr Belinda Kamp, age 70, retires as Thorn Tree Academy Principal. Caught on camera signing off on her last student reports.

SPELLING BEE! THORN TREE ACADEMY AND BOIPUSA PRIMARY. Awesome day. We tied and then in the playoff BOIPUSA took the cup. All the students had a fun day getting to know one another. Hotdogs and fruit and juice at the end of the spelling bee. Great day.

Thorn Tree Academy 2020 reopened in peace and the students so happy to be back in their favorite place. A few photos of the year end 2019 parents meeting and concert and prize giving !

Exam time! Last exams for 2019. Principal Dr Belinda finishing off the work load. It appears we have a 90% overall pass rate for Thorn tree Academy for 4th Term. Our teachers and students worked diligently and have achieved a great deal this term! Looking forward to awards ceremony and school concert on Saturday!

TREE PLANTING........ SECURING AND PROTECTING OUR LAND !
Students and teachers, together with volunteers from Green Peace, planting trees across an entrance to block off the trucks that lawlessly come and dump rubbish on our property and JMPD demolishing shacks of illegal criminals who are still taking land from us. All happening today. The students got to ride in an awesome Safari truck on part of our undeveloped land and their screams of joy were a blessing!

Fun Friday, Site Manager Nelson opening cans for Siza's mum who is cooking a delicious lunch for the students! Teacher Tintswalos class have a birthday and popcorn to celebrate! We are still needing funding to cover the curriculum for this third term and would be blessed if you can assist our students!

Curriculum Drive for our soon starting Third School Term on 9 July 2019. Our previous term overall percentage from all the exams was 95%. Our students love their school, teachers and studying. However to keep this awesome record we need the next batch of curriculum sponsored. So we are asking for funds towards what is estimated to be R20 000 (awaiting the Quote
Price from supplier). Every amount small or large, will add towards what is required. Just a reminder we are putting these students through a private school education giving those in the informal settlement an even playing field for the future when they graduate from Grade 12. This is a project worth investing in as the education they receive will have a major impact on their lives in the future.

Happy Birthday Teacher Ruvimbo a great blessing for the students and staff to celebrate with you today! After cleaning up the playground it was all hands on deck to serve cake and coldrink and celebrate a very precious teacher who loves her students !
