Hi all
Today has been a very difficult day for me and GTD Training Solutions. Our dear Cecilia Roux passed away this morning after her fight with the dreaded C. To say that I am heartbroken would be an understatement.
Cecilia has been a pillar to GTD for the longest of times, she stood by me through some really difficult times. She has also been an excellent colleague to the GTD team and her work ethic could not be faulted.
She started her career at SAA, also were she met her dear husband, Bertie. I send my love and condolences to Bertie and her 2 amazing young ladies, Alicia and Cindy who she leaves behind.
My dearest Cecilia, rest peace in the arms of Jesus, and when you are ready fly high with the angels.
I will keep you in my heart, until we meet again.
Caleb

Hi everyone
***Amadeus Nifty Entry***
Todays entry will be beneficial for ticketing agents who wish to do a query report for tickets issued on a specific airline only. Its quite a nice entry which avoids agents from scrolling up and down searching through 101 tickets that may not be relevant to your search.
Hope it helps someone out there.
Have an awesome week further.

Hi everyone
***Amadeus Nifty Entry***
Today I will be focusing on an entry that will help with those pesky flights that depart in the early hours of the morning and we are trying to find connections. Todays availability entry will display flights based on earliest arrival time on the day. Normally the system defaults to first departure for the day.
Hope it helps someone out there.

Hi everyone
Today, I would like to focus on updating the TKTL entry in a PNR. In most instances agents would use a fake date in order to save the PNR. When the airline returns the ticketing deadline info, it is always good to update the TKTL info to match this. Some of you would already know this but lets help those who are starting new.
Hope it helps someone out there. Have an awesome week ahead

Hi all
Todays post, is not really a nifty entry as such, but an explanation to a system response. Have you ever done an availability entry and found codes like IR, TR etc. at the end of the line. Today we highlight what they actually mean. Hope it helps someone out there.
Have a lovely week ahead

Hi guys
Many of you who know me, know that I would never use this platform to promote controversial issues. The post today has nothing to do with the FIFA world cup nor the one individual who is currently in the spotlight. Having seen the numerous posts, it made me think of our industry. How often do we acknowledge and thank the generations that came before us?
Today, I would like to give a MASSIVE shout out to unsung individuals in our industry who through decades of hard work and dedication have forged ahead reinventing themselves becoming heroes in their own right. Some of these industry giants have been around longer than some of us are living. You have been tried and tested and have truly stood firm, I THANK YOU for standing strong.
People like me, find it hard to believe that our generation have now become the torch bearers, we carry with us the knowledge imparted by these giants, and it is now our responsibility to pass this onto future generations. Passing the baton onto the next generation is not the easiest thing to do, walking away from what you did best for decades, is gut-wrenching, watching the next generation break our records, is not always easy, but at some point, we do step away, sometimes gracefully and other times not so much.
I remember fondly, the first time I had to look at RTW fares, my nerves, but a gracious Bev Impson, sat me down and said this is not as difficult as you think. Sometimes it is not about the technology, it is about the person guiding you, that makes the difference. So today, I salute every travel/aviation expert that came before me, paving the way with knowledge, resources, and insight that no textbook could have ever taught me. I also challenge the generations coming after me, be willing to learn. Be mindful that a system is just a system, it will do what is programmed to do and will never replace knowledge, the generations before us, had to test and perfect that system so that with a click of a mouse it creates magic, THAT MAGIC CAME FROM SOMEWHERE. To all the generations, XYZ, don’t ever be afraid to give credit where credit is due, people work hard, lots of sacrifices have been made to get them to where they are and what they have achieved, it is human nature to want to feel appreciated.
Once again, I salute not just the previous generations for the work put in, but the upcoming generations who must embrace changes coming ahead, be ready, the giants that came before us, have shown it is possible to evolve and still be the best you can be. Those of us in our 40’s, we are a force that the world needs, appreciate what came before and don’t be scared to pass on the baton when it is time to do so.

Hi everyone
***Amadeus Nifty Entry***
So you did availability for an outbound flight, but you would prefer to look at both inbound and onward/return flight simultaneously, but the schlep of redoing the whole entry can sometimes be overwhelming. Todays entry is quite a nice shortcut instead of redoing the entire entry. Hope it helps someone out there.
Have an awesome week ahead.

Hi everyone
***Amadeus Nifty Entry***
I wasn't really sure if I should post this, but someone asked me last week if it is possible to split a TST which has multiple passengers. Did you know that this is possible? If the agent last week needed it, then perhaps someone here might benefit from it as well.
Have an awesome week ahead guys
