To the family, friends, comrades and Tshwane University of Technology students,

"Death is a thief" (African Proverb). On Thursday night we were shocked to learn of the sudden death of Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) student leader under SASCO and Fees Must Fall activist Lesego Benjamin Phehla after he was hit by a car at a protest outside one of the institution's campuses. From the Black Management Forum Student Chapter please accept our deepest sympathies for your loss; our prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Cde Benjamin Phehla was a final year Information and Communication Technology (ICT) student and the chairperson of the ICT Student Faculty Council, playing a huge role in liaising and advising the dean on student issues.

His fight for free quality education in South Africa will not go in vein. May his soul rest in peace.

Our sincerest condolences, The Black Management Forum Student Chapter.
