A nanny who narrates the day out loud is doing more for language development than she'll ever be told.
"Now we're putting on your shoes. One foot, then the other." That simple, steady narration throughout the day, naming what's happening as it happens, is one of the most powerful things a caregiver can do for a baby's language development.
It builds vocabulary, teaches sentence structure, and shows babies that everything around them has a name.
If you're a nanny who talks your little one through the day, you're doing exactly the right thing. Keep going.
