United in green and gold! πΏπ¦ππ
Today, we proudly wore our Bafana Bafana supporter shirts as we got behind our national team ahead of their first game. Moments like these remind us of the power of unity, pride and the shared spirit that brings South Africans together.
Wishing Bafana Bafana all the best as they take to the field β we'll be cheering them on every step of the way! β½πΏπ¦

Bullying leaves a lasting impact, often in ways that are not immediately visible. That is why conversations around kindness, respect and courage are so important.
Last week, our Grade 6 and Grade 7 students had the opportunity to hear from Sven Ruygrok, a South African actor and anti-bullying advocate who is passionate about helping young people navigate the challenges they face both in and out of school.
Drawing on his experiences and his work in schools across the country, Sven encouraged students to stand up for one another, choose kindness and understand the powerful role they play in creating a positive school environment.
At Marist Brothers Linmeyer, we remain committed to fostering a school where every student feels seen, valued and respected. Where they belong.

Chess team shine at St Martin's Youth Day Festival
The Marist Brothers Linmeyer Chess team competed at the St Martin's Youth Day Festival this past weekend, finishing in second place. While first place may have eluded us, there's no shame in finding ourselves in a familiar position: it seems second is our knight in shining armour. We're immensely proud of every player who took to the board and flew the MBL flag.
Congratulations to the team! We look forward to seeing what moves you make next!

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Champagnat Spirit Day. What started as a chilly morning turned into a wonderful celebration of sports, connection and school pride.
From the friendly competition on the courts and fields to the conversations, laughter and reunions throughout the day, it was heartwarming to see generations of the MBL family come together.
Here's to celebrating 60 years of Marist Brothers Linmeyer and the spirit that continues to bring us together.

On Monday, 1 June, we were privileged enough to be invited by the Marist Brothers to join them for dinner at Sacred Heart College. The evening started off with us being introduced to each of the Brothers, hearing their stories and wisdom. We were also introduced to the other staff members from Sacred Heart College who joined us and shared their backgrounds, explaining how Marist has played a huge role in each of their lives. Thereafter, we joined them for dinner, which helped us all to get to know one another even more. This experience was truly a blessing and we enjoyed every minute of it! Thank you to the Marist Brothers for inviting us and for sharing many laughs and creating very special memories with us. We thank you for your welcoming hospitality and for letting us be a part of this special dinner!

The Grade 5 Students have been hard at work building river systems as part of their Geography lessons. π
This hands-on project gave students the opportunity to apply their classroom learning in a practical and creative way, while exploring the different features of a river system.
Well done to the Grade 5s on their effort and creativity.

There is something truly special about Champagnat Day, a day that reminds us not only of where we come from, but of who we are.
On Friday, our hearts were filled with gratitude as we celebrated the life of St Marcellin Champagnat, whose unwavering faith, boundless love for young people and vision of family spirit continue to guide us every day.
As we gathered together for a whole-school celebratory Mass, we were reminded that being part of a Marist school is more than belonging to a community, it is belonging to a family. A family that supports one another, lifts each other up and walks together through every challenge and triumph.
St Marcellin believed that every child should know they are loved. That simple yet powerful belief lives on in our classrooms, on our sports fields, in our corridors and in every act of kindness shared within our school.
Thank you to every student, staff member, parent, the Marist Brothers, CSO members, alumni and friends of our school who help keep St Marcellinβs dream alive. May we continue to be the hearts of his mission, carrying his legacy forward with faith, compassion and love.
Today, we celebrate a saint. Every day, we strive to live his message.
Happy Feast Day, Marist Family. πβ
