This Heritage Day, we celebrate the many cultures, traditions, languages and experiences that shape who we are as South Africans.
At the University of Johannesburg, our diversity is an important part of our identity. We believe that embracing different backgrounds and perspectives enriches our university community and strengthens our commitment to inclusivity, mutual respect and belonging.
As we honour our cultural heritage, we also celebrate our natural heritage. In this special episode of The Hot Talk- VC chilling with Hoepie, recorded at the Kruger National Park, we pay tribute to 100 years of conservation, history and the extraordinary natural beauty that forms part of our national identity.
From sharing a traditional meal around the braai to expressing our cultural pride in our own unique ways, Heritage Day reminds us that there is room for everyone in our collective story.

Happy Heritage Day to all our students, staff, alumni and the wider UJ community!

In the most recently published 18th edition of the alumni magazine, we profiled one of our illustrious Alumni, Prof Nnenna Ifeanyi-Ajufo.

Long before she became a respected voice in cyber law, she was simply a young girl who loved books. At just 16, she stepped into university, carrying with her a discipline shaped at home, for her, education is a way of life.
