🏎️💨 FUTURE ENGINEERS AT WORK! 🔧✨

Our brilliant Grade 5 learners put their STEM skills to the test this term by designing and building their very own mini-cars! 🚗💡Using recyclable materials like plastic bottles, bottle caps, cardboard, and wooden skewers, and powering them using elastic potential energy, our young innovators explored physics and mechanical design hands on. 🧠⚡From concept to test drive, we are so proud of their creativity, problem solving skills, and determination!

⚡️💡 SPARKING CREATIVITY!💡⚡️

Our Grade 6 scientists have been lighting up the classroom with their incredible hands on science projects, constructing their very own simple electric circuits to put their Natural Sciences knowledge into practice! 🔋⚙️ From wiring switches, batteries, and bulbs to building fully illuminated model rooms, cars, and display boards, our learners showed amazing innovation and attention to detail as they connected theory to real world engineering. We are so proud of their hard work, big smiles, and electrifying creativity, let us know your favorite circuit design in the comments below! 🔌✨🏠🚘

🎵 🎸 Making Music & Learning Science! 🥁 🎶

✨ Our brilliant Grade 4 learners have been hard at work bringing science to life! 🚀 As part of their practical learning, they designed and built their very own musical instruments! 🎨✂️⚡️ The challenge? To demonstrate how movement (input energy) 🖐️ translates directly into sound (output energy) 🔊!
From plucking guitar strings 🪕 to shaking shakers 🫨 and beating homemade drums 🥁, our learners showed incredible creativity using recycled materials ♻️🤩! We are so proud of our young scientists 🔬 and musicians 🎼 for their hard work, innovation, and big smiles! 🌟👏💖

HERITAGE DAY

Happy Heritage Day! Today is a beautiful reminder that the true strength of our Jacaranda family lies in the rich tapestry of our differences, our varied languages, traditions, and unique family stories woven together into one vibrant community. True belonging never asks our children to hide who they are; it teaches them to stand tall and proud in their own heritage while opening their hearts with curiosity and respect for others. When every family brings their unique flavour to the table, we build a richer, kinder, and more unified future for all our learners! 🇿🇦✨🌿❤️

🍛 SPREADING WARMTH & CARE ACROSS OUR COMMUNITY! ❤️✨

For our September Jacaranda Cares outreach initiative, our hearts and hands were full as we cooked meals to our local Edenvale, Greenstone, Eastleigh and Edenglen communities! 🍲❤️

There is nothing quite like sharing a delicious, comforting plate of food to bring people together and lift spirits. Our team proudly handed out portions of rich butter chicken and rice alongside flavourful biryani to community members across our neighborhoods.

A big thank you to everyone who supported this initiative and helped us make a meaningful impact. Together, we continue to show that small acts of kindness create a big wave of positive change! 🌟🤗

PART 1

🎭 WHAT AN UNFORGETTABLE NIGHT AT SHREKED: A GREAT FAIRY TALE MIX-UP! ✨

Last Friday, the hall came alive with magic, laughter, and incredible talent as our learners brought Shreked to life on stage! Beyond the colourful costumes and show-stopping performances from our fairy-tale creatures, the show carried a profound message centered on self-acceptance, human nature, and emotional intelligence. Through the story of Shrek and his fellow fairy-tale friends, our young performers reminded us all that our unique differences are not things to hide, but strengths to celebrate with pride.

We are deeply passionate about the power of theatre and literature to teach core values that extend far beyond the classroom walls. Stepping into character and sharing a story on stage allows our learners to build resilience, cultivate empathy by looking past outer appearances, and develop the emotional awareness needed to navigate the world. A massive thank you to our dedicated teachers, staff, backstage crew, and parents who made this production possible, and a huge congratulations to our brilliant learners for inspiring us all to proudly own who we are! 👏💚
