Dr Tshepo Feela brings a rare combination of strategic, academic and governance leadership to the Wits Business School (WBS) Alumni Association committee.

A PhD graduate of WBS, Dr Feela serves as Group Chief Executive Officer of Diversifex Group and as a Commissioner on the National Planning Commission, appointed by the President of South Africa. His career spans strategy, finance and organisational development, with an academic footprint that extends across institutions locally and internationally - lecturing, supervising postgraduate students and reviewing for leading economic and Brics journals.

A member of the Institute of Directors South Africa and an award-winning professional, Dr Feela is committed to strengthening WBS alumni engagement and advancing the School's national and global impact.

It’s official! We're proud to announce that Wits Business School has been awarded EQUIS accreditation for the next three years - placing us among the world's leading business schools.

The certificate was received by Prof Logan Rangasamy, interim Head of School, and Prof Jones Odei-Mensah, Academic Director, on behalf of WBS at the EFMD Global Annual Conference, currently underway in Sevilla, Spain.

This prestigious accreditation recognises the overall quality, viability, and self-improvement commitment of business and management schools around the world. It is proof of well-designed programmes with clear learning outcomes, rigorous student selection, highly qualified teaching staff, impactful research output and contribution to ethics and sustainability.

South Africa has food safety laws. What it lacks is a coherent system to make them work.

South Africa imports 100% of its oil.

When the Strait of Hormuz closed, the largest oil market disruption in World Bank history sent shockwaves across the globe, and this country had nowhere to hide.

But the real risk isn't just the price at the pump.

It's the data black holes obscuring the true state of our strategic reserves. It's the mismanagement of stock that should protect us. It's a nation exposed, with little room to absorb the next shock.

Prof Rod Crompton and Dr Bruce Young from the African Energy Leadership Centre (AELC) at Wits Business School ask the hard questions, and the answers demand attention.

We congratulate our alumnus Lincoln Mali, CEO of Lesaka Technologies, on two prestigious honours received in the same week.

Lincoln received the Leadership and Legacy Award from the Urban College of Boston, where he also delivered the commencement address and was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Humanities. Back home in Johannesburg, he was named Inspirational Leader of the Year at the 2026 Future of Leadership Awards - with his children accepting the honour on his behalf while he was on stage in Boston.

Featured in our book Change Agents: Leadership lessons from 23 of South Africa's senior leaders, Lincoln's journey from adversity to being celebrated on two continents is a testament to resilience and purposeful leadership.
