Adam's house is an education programme created to help children with Dyslexia and Dyscalulia. We are based within Kyalami Preparatory School.

Adams house deals with individual remedial programmes to help school children and adults with learning difficulties and specialises in Dyslexia and Dyscalculia. Both of which are misunderstood in South Africa and therefore, through my own personal journey, I give talks to as many teachers, parents, professionals and children as possible.

I have started 2015 with a bang, and have been doing a 'Touch Typing' course with 16 Students from the Bellavista School in Johannesburg. One of my students only has the use of his left hand, which the course can accommodate, showing you just how versatile this course is and how awesome it would be if it was part of the school syllabuses for all children from the age of 7 !! I have even got some very interested mothers and am looking to do a course for them as well,
So should your children's schools not have anything like a touch typing course, please refer them to me !! ([email protected])

Below is a newspaper article about a boy with learning difficulties getting 7 distinction's and how the IEB helped him. This story shows how very important accommodations and concessions are for children with learning difficulties in order to get the best out of them, showing their true skills and capabilities.

Don't ever think that a jigsaw puzzle is old fashioned! Are you aware that it helps fine motor skills, gross motor skills, problem solving and shape recognition? So next time, encourage your child to do a puzzle rather than a game on your cell phone!
