Sand Sensory Play

Our Totz explored the wonderful world of sand sensory play this morning with happy hearts, sandy little hands, and lots of excitement! 😍

To introduce a new texture, trays were filled with dry sand for the children to investigate. They eagerly pinched the sand between their fingers, lifted their tiny sand-filled hands, and watched as the grains trickled back into the trays.

Messy? Absolutely! But every smile, giggle, “ooh,” and “aah” made it completely worthwhile. 😁

Under the gentle guidance of Mamma King and Amy, our Totz then practised recognising and writing the number 4 in the sand. The children enjoyed tracing and forming the number independently, building both their confidence and early numeracy skills. 🤩

Once the number activity was completed, it was time for some free sand play fun! 🥳

Nathan and Dabulamanzi proudly left their handprints in the sand, while Nonkanyiso used her building block to create patterns, telling us she was making “cookies.” Michelle kept herself busy scooping sand into her building block, happily unaware that half of her carefully collected sand was landing on the tiles instead! 🤣

Through sensory exploration, imaginative play, and meaningful conversations, our Totz learned and discovered together—just another wonderful Monday morning at CityTotz! 🏆🌟🏆

At CityKidz, we know that fatherhood comes in many forms. Today, we want to honour every single man who steps up to guide, protect, and inspire our children. To the biological fathers, bonus dads, grandfathers, uncles, older brothers, and mentors in our community: thank you. You are the coaches who cheer from the sidelines, the teachers who help with late-night homework, and the steady examples of kindness and strength our children look up to every day. Your presence creates a safe foundation for our children to learn, grow, and thrive. Thank you for your patience, your sacrifices, and your unwavering support. You are shaping the leaders of tomorrow, and our school community is stronger because of you. Happy Father’s Day to all our incredible dad figures!
