Christmas came early for our choir kids 🎄
As many of you know, I’m a co-conductor of the African Legacy Homeschool Choir — a beautiful community of over 40 talented children from across Johannesburg’s homeschooling families.
This year has been nothing short of remarkable. From performing at the Johannesburg Arts Festival to earning Gold at the National Eisteddfod, these children have poured their hearts into their passion for music, discipline, and growth. I could not be proud of the commitment and resilience I have witnessed in each one of them.
And for a second year in a row, our incredible partners at stepped in to help us celebrate this journey, gifting our children with Christmas-themed goodie bags to mark the season in a truly special way. 🎁
This is more than just a sponsorship. This is a brand that consistently shows up for children, creativity, and community — even when my requests are last minute and the need is urgent. And that speaks volumes.
To the team: thank you for believing in the magic of childhood and the power of creative expression.

My little animal lovers 😍
We will never miss an opportunity to play, feed or just hang out with animals. We don’t own any pets because we love to travel, but we do take a neighbours dog out for walks at least once a week. I should seriously consider opening that dog walking business 🤭
When we went away recently, we could not pass up the opportunity to be around animals. Finding things for younger kids to do on holiday isn’t always easy but I find that anything to do with animals is always a win for both my girls. And it’s so nice to find animals that are so well taken care of 😍. Remi says she wants to be a Vet (“of house animals, not the ones from the wild” 🤭).
I love that they are learning to appreciate this beautiful planet we call home and all the animals we share it with

Sometimes the simplest activities have the biggest developmental impact. 🌈
This rainbow sticker match works on:
💡 Colour recognition — helping your toddler visually sort and classify
🖐️ Pincer grip development — strengthening the tiny hand muscles they’ll later use for writing
🧠 Concentration and sequencing — encouraging them to follow a pattern and see it through
As parents, we often think learning needs to look complicated — but research shows that repetition through play is how young children master new skills best.
So, before handing over the tablet, try setting up something small, simple, and screen-free.
It doesn’t need to be Pinterest-perfect — just intentional.
Because what they really need… is you, and five focused minutes. 💛

I’ve always dreamed big for my girls — but if I’m honest, those dreams were always for someday. One day when they’re older… one day when they’ve found their path. The kind of dreams that live in the distance — about careers, passports full of stamps, and stages I can only imagine.
But moments like this remind me that all the big things start now.
When Remi came home from the National Eisteddfod with a Diploma in Solo Music Performance, I was stunned. Not just because she’s only four — but because I realised how much these little moments already matter. This certificate isn’t just paper; it’s a piece of her story.
So today, I pulled out my laminator (because I wasn’t ready with a frame just yet 😅), and sealed it up. Because I’ve learnt that motherhood is full of these blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments… and keeping them safe feels just as important as celebrating them.
One day she’ll look back and see how it all began — how her love for music was nurtured, encouraged, and honoured.
And when she does, this little gold certificate will still be here… perfectly laminated and protected, just the way her mama kept it. ✨

POV: you made your first born a best friend 😍
Dresses:
I’ve learned that children don’t become who we tell them to be — they become what they see.
So today, instead of just telling my daughters that reading is important, I showed them what it looks like to slow down, open a book, and enjoy the moment.
One day, they’ll do the same — not because I told them to, but because it became our rhythm. 💛

When we keep our promises to our children, we do more than make memories — we build trust.
They learn that when we speak, we mean it.
That same trust becomes the foundation for discipline later on — because a child who believes your “yes” will come to under stand our “no” and that it comes from love and doesn’t need fear to listen. 💛
We literally spent 5 hours here 😍. If you ever find yourself in the south coast, do drop by. There so much to do there. Thought we would play mini golf and visit the butterfly dome but ended up spending most of our time with the animals. We went back a second day, thought maybe we would quad bike, where, we spent even more time with the animals 🤣
Make sure to read to your kids everyday. They will learn to love it. And even if they don’t, they will learn to know that it is part the family routine. Just like when we wake up we brush our teeth, regardless of if we want to or not. Follow for more parent chats
School holidays are here — and if you’re looking for something fun (and low-effort) to keep the kids busy… this is it 👇
The CrazyCrafts Bubble Making Kit from their Science Range has been such a hit at home! It’s hands-on, a little messy in the best way, and keeps the fun going long after setup.
