Quality education for primary and high school learners

23/07/2018

It was lovely having Professor Welch from Miles College / Howard University in the USA this past Friday. She addressed our Grade 11 and Grade 12 learners.

It was inspiring and enlightening. Sincerest thanks to her.

We would also like to congratulate our top 5 performers for the second term in the UCS FET Section (Grades 10-12).

It was Will Durant who admonished: “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.”

Keep up the good work. Make it a habit!

Congratulations to our top 5 performers for the second term in the UCS Middle School (Grades 7-9).

To quote Confucius: “The will to win, the desire to succeed, the urge to reach your full potential... these are the keys that will unlock the door to personal excellence.”

“I’ve always believed that if you put in the work, the results will come. I don’t do things half-heartedly. Because I know if I do, then I can expect half-hearted results.” ~ Michael Jordan

Congratulations to the 5, top performing learners from grades 10 to 12, for Term 1 at UCS. You have put in the work and the results are showing! 👏🏾🏆

It was Ralph Marston who said: “Don't lower your expectations to meet your performance. Raise your level of performance to meet your expectations. Expect the best of yourself, and then do what is necessary to make it a reality.”

These are the 5, top performing learners from grades 7 to 9, for Term 1 at UCS.

Congratulations to them! 👏🏾🏆

It is a deliberate part of the UCS culture to celebrate our talents and share them with each other.

Last week at assembly, Diyoka shared his musical talent with us and played a beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace. 😊👏🏾

It was lovely having one of our former learners from the class of 2012, introducing her outreach programme to us at assembly this morning.

We find so much joy in seeing the progress of our former learners.

Thanks to Grace Iyaka for visiting us today.

We are very proud of the UCS class of 2017 for holding our name up high and maintaining our 100% pass rate record. We wish them all the best as they begin a new chapter in their lives.

To the rest of our school and friends of UCS, we wish you success and happiness this year.

Just before they started writing their final exams, out Matric class of 2017 spent a Saturday with our principal Ms Ulster as is part of her annual custom.

With the help of two former learners, she shared practical and pragmatic insights on life and what they need to know to withstand its demands and succeed as they step into life after Matric.

There were positive debates, questions, answers and comments. It was a day made for young people with big dreams and a principal who is committed to ensuring that they pursue them with a grounded mindset.

As our learners would say, it was “lit”! 😊

Today, we were privileged to have Living Maths host an American engineer and former NASA astronaut Dr Don Thomas at UCS.

It was an exciting and inspirational day for our learners. Dr Thomas’ presentation opened the minds of our learners to a world were endless possibility exists for them through maths and science.

We were very happy to also have learners from Sacred Heart College visiting with us.
