Rejection, failure, feedback, offense- these are all external stimuli and how we choose to respond to them will determine the state of our mental health. It’s not easy but here are a few tips that have helped me:

1) look for the facts and information not the emotions in the words. And don’t make assumptions!


2) try see how you can turn this into a valuable learning lesson and opportunity to grow


3) Talk to someone about how you feel as this weakens the power of emotions and gives you perspective


4) actively force yourself to focus on something else for a few hours. Over time the sting of rejection etc will fade


5) remind yourself that EVERYONE faces rejection, negative feedback, failure, etc all the time.
