Congratulations to Amber and Wayne on completing the Management Advancement Programme (MAP)! We're proud to celebrate two leaders who took on the challenge and who now have plenty to say about why it's worth it.

As an HR manager, Amber values how the programme exposes specialist managers to a range of management modules - building an understanding of business that well-rounded leaders need.

Wayne recommends MAP for the connections it builds: the chance to engage and network with a wide range of people, learn from them, and sharpen your leadership and strategic thinking.

Amber is honest about what it takes. Classroom time is only part of the journey - study, group work and assignments all call on your personal time. But it's a great investment.

Thinking about your next step?

What an unforgettable celebration of growth, resilience, and leadership excellence!

We recently gathered to celebrate the graduation of our latest Open Enrolment cohorts across the Management Advancement Programme (MAP), Management Development Programme (MDP), and Executive Development Programme (EDP).

Stepping away from day-to-day pressures to commit to rigorous professional development takes immense dedication. These leaders leave equipped with the strategic frameworks, leadership agility, and visionary mindset required to drive sustainable growth across their organisations and industries.

The room was filled with energy, topped by a moving and deeply authentic address from our guest speaker, Marcia Mayaba. Sharing the powerful lessons from her personal and professional journey, Marcia delivered a message of courage and conviction that moved the audience to a unanimous standing ovation – a truly powerful moment for everyone present.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all the organisations supporting these leaders on their learning journeys, and we commend every graduate for their commitment to personal and professional excellence.

Congratulations to all our MAP, MDP, and EDP graduates!

Leadership growth begins with self-awareness and that's exactly where Iris Phiri's journey started.

Through the Transnet Women in Leadership Executive Programme at WBS, Iris used tools to identify her blind spots, lead with greater empathy, and build a more collaborative, intentional approach to her team.

"I can confidently say that I am now a more self-aware, adaptable, and impactful leader.”

The programme doesn't just sharpen skills. It changes how leaders see themselves and how they serve others.

We are incredibly pleased to celebrate the graduation of the latest cohort from the New Kleinfontein Gold One Management Development Programme. What does transformational leadership actually feel like?

For Lungile Xaba, it felt like a fundamental shift in how she thinks, leads, and shows up.

"WBS doesn't just develop leaders, it ignites them - preparing individuals to shape the future and deliver real, lasting impact in a complex world.”

The Transnet Women in Leadership Executive Programme, offered through Wits Business School (WBS) Executive Education, gave Lungile the tools to lead with clarity, courage, and resilience - and the confidence to navigate complexity with purpose.

Her story is one of many.

From authentic leadership to emotional intelligence, Zanele leaves with the tools to inspire change in her organisation and beyond.

Congratulations, Zanele. We couldn't be prouder. 👏

The future of mining demands visionary leadership at the highest level.

We are proud to continue our powerful collaboration with African Rainbow Minerals and Wits Business School Executive Education, and the Wits School of Geosciences for the launch of the ARM: Mining Executive of the Future Programme.

While the industry undergoes unprecedented shifts, this specialised programme is dedicated to equipping senior executives with the strategic foresight, agility, and global insights needed to steer the mining sector towards a sustainable, tech-driven tomorrow.

An initiative of this caliber relies on exceptional expertise. We were privileged to host two phenomenal thought leaders who challenged and inspired our delegates: Abdullah Verachia, who delivered masterfully on global strategy, disruption, and navigating macroeconomic shifts, and Carolynn Chalmers, who shared profound insights on corporate governance, digital leadership, and future-focused oversight.

A massive thank you to Dr. Busisiwe Tshabalala and Lebo Phasha from ARM for their unwavering support, partnership, and dedication to fostering the next tier of executive excellence.

Together, we are defining the future of mining leadership.
