Celebrating a Professorial Inauguration | Professor Mandla J. Radebe
Today, the University of Johannesburg hosted the Professorial Inauguration of Professor Mandla J. Radebe, Professor in Strategic Communication.
The occasion marked an important academic milestone as Prof Radebe formally delivered his inaugural address, titled “From the National Question to the Digital Question: Strategic Communication, Power and South Africa’s Unfinished Democratic Project.”
The inaugural address explored the evolving relationship between strategic communication, power and democracy in the context of South Africa’s digital landscape.
In attendance was Honourable Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development of South Africa, Mmamoloko Kubayi, alongside members of the University community and distinguished guests.
Prof Radebe’s address was followed by a response from Professor Nicole Stremlau, Professor of Law and Society in a Digital World at the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, University of Oxford.
The Professorial Inauguration provided an opportunity to celebrate Prof Radebe’s academic journey and contribution to the field of strategic communication, while engaging with important questions shaping South Africa’s democratic project in the digital age.
