Equestrian News - Angelina Grab

Angie Grab (Grade 11) was selected to represent Gauteng at the SA Youth Championships, held at Shongweni, KwaZulu-Natal earlier this term. She was one of only five riders selected for the Gauteng Junior 90 cm Show Jumping Team, competing against 68 of the country's top junior riders representing every province, and was ranked 3rd in South Africa for this division.

Angie achieved an outstanding 7th place in the Individual A2 Speed Competition, demonstrating exceptional skill and consistency at national level. On the Championship Day, the Gauteng Junior 90 cm Team won the Gold Medal, making them the South African Champions in their division.

This achievement is particularly meaningful as Angie has now represented Gauteng in show jumping for three consecutive years (2024, 2025 and 2026).

Congratulations on your 2026 achievements Angie.

More to come from the evening's event, but a big shout out to all our sponsors, volunteers, players and support staff who made this epic day a success. Beagle Watch Armed Response The Schools Platform

A special congratulations to the U17 team who were originally seeded 18th and managed to come third.

Liam Smith - World Mix Martial Art Competition IMMAF

Liam recently competed in the MMA Youth World Championships held in Abu Dhabi this August. He beat a Ukrainian athlete, who was ranked 2nd in the world, and an English national champion. He then lost in the semi-finals due to an injury he sustained in his first fight. Liam earned himself a bronze medal and a ranking of 3rd in the world. Liam has also been selected to compete in the MMA world cup this September, to be held in Angola.

The competition was particularly challenging at the MMA Youth World Championship this year, with some of the strongest international competitors participating in the event.

Congratulations to Liam on his achievements and we wish him all the best for his next bouts.
