Grade 12 Preliminary Examination

Cell phones

1. Due to social distancing, sanitising of devices and the massive influx of learners into the office, learners will not be allowed to hand in and collect cell phones at the office during the examination.
2. Cell phones are not allowed in the examination room. If a learner is found with a cell phone in his/her possession during the examination session, it will be regarded as an irregularity. The cell phone will be confiscated and kept as evidence. An irregularity report will be sent to the Department of Education and the cell phone will be handed over to them. The department will keep the phone until their investigation is completed. The investigation may result in the delay of results and even in 0 marks for that particular examination paper.
3. The school advises the learners not to bring their cell phones to school during the examination.
4. The school takes NO responsibility for lost or stolen cell phones.

Sanitising and checking IDs

1. The learners’ IDs have to be checked and their hands must be sanitised before they enter the examination room. We therefore request that the learners arrive at least at 8:15 at the examination venues in order to be able to conduct all these requirements.

NB: GR11 LEARNERS/GUARDIANS

Please note that SUBJECT CHANGES will only be allowed until 31 July, as per Internal Memo 16 signed by B Ngbane, Chief Director: Examinations and Assessments.

A learner who wishes to make a subject change must collect a form from the office. The learner, together with their guardian, must complete and sign the form and return it to the office no later than 31 July2020. Changes will only be allowed if it fits the timetable.

SANITIZING OF THE SCHOOL

We have measures in place where the desks are sanitized frequently as per departmental instructions.

At this point the desk sanitizing liquid which was provided by the Department, has been fully utilised. The Department did not supply us with more sanitising material which brought about that we have to purchase it using school funds.

The school is currently experiencing a cashflow problem and therefor we have established that bleach liquid is the cheapest alternative and is sufficient for sanitising purposes.

The health of the learners and teachers is our priority.

Well done to our senior boys Athletics Team that ended up in 8th place at the National Twizza Super Schools competition in Pretoria and are thus the 8th best team in South Africa!

Schools from over the entire country qualified to compete at the event.

Well done to Tshepo Ntuntwana who ran, and won, an incredible 1500m, and Gayisa Maswangiya who won gold in the High Jump!

All tests that were scheduled for Tuesday, 4 February will be written on Thursday, 6 February.
