π± H**p Nation Greenhouse Project: Improving H**p Growthπ±
Weβre excited to share the results from our Phase 2 Greenhouse Project on Mgadlela Farm! ππΏ The goal?
To create a more controlled environment for h**p cultivation, reducing pollen contamination, minimizing pests, and improving germination success.
After months of work, the small shade-cloth greenhouse has shown great promise, although thereβs still room for improvement. β
Weβve reduced pest problems, but male pollen contamination and humidity-related challenges still persist. The learning doesnβt stop here β weβre constantly adapting and improving!
π‘ Key Takeaways:
A small greenhouse helps increase seedling success.
Shadecloth reduces some pests, but we still need extra protection from rain.
Ongoing learning: The farmerβs hands-on involvement is crucial for success.
Real challenges: floor issues, pests, and male pollen, but weβre on the path to improvement.
This project isn't just for research β it's benefiting the Mgadlela farm, too! With plans for more greenhouses, weβre excited to continue improving and pushing the boundaries of sustainable farming practices. ππ±
