IAJ in partnership with Absa has successfully hosted the Finance and Public Sector Audit Reporting course for five consecutive years. During the five years IAJ has trained over 1 500 community and mainstream media journalists in all 9 provinces in South Africa on the topic of Finance and Public Sector Audit Reporting.

This year the IAJ & Absa hosted the workshop in the last province, Cape Town.

After the two day workshop we ended off with a Stakeholder Gala Dinner to celebrate the 5th year partnership as well as to thank all our stakeholders for their continuous partnership.

The IAJ would like to thank the Absa team for the continuous support over the 5 years.

The Finance and Public Sector Audit Reporting Workshop held in Cape Town for 2022 was indeed a success the delegates hailed from various community media organizations in Cape Town, such as KC Radio Zibonele Fm 98.2 Radio Atlantis SABC News Western Cape VALLEY FM 89.5 Bush Radio 89.5 FM CT OneFM

This course was facilitated by the seasoned subject matter expert, Mr Reginald Rumney. Delegates were introduced to new techniques, enhanced knowledge and technical skills needed to effectively understand, analyse, interpret and report across all media platforms to their target audiences, on topics related to Public finances.

This course was funded by Absa bank

The IAJ would like to express our sincere condolences to the family of our beloved colleague, Howard Charles Thomas.

Howard was an esteemed intellectual and creative, he has trained hundreds of delegates through the IAJ for decades.

Howard will be remembered for his full of life character and his passion for the creative industries. Howard will be dearly missed by many.
